My name was origionally That_annoying_kid, becuase a group of people would regularly play UT on the schools LAN, and I was a sniper, and in my youth *sighs and reminises* (sp?) I was very annoying, and since I was an excellent sniper, the ::headshot:: sound would echo the room, and people would yell @ that annoying kid, and I guess it had a ring to it, and later I started typing that as th@, becuase I have always found the @ sign cool.

Well...My name has multiple origins.

Originally when I started playing online games, I was Sniper Zero and Soldier Zero.  Named after a short-story I wrote called Project Zero.

Then I got to playing CS, and my name was... *tries to remember* Fallen Knight.  I used that for CS.

Then I got AHL back in like '99, '00.  I was ~Nova~.  Then Nova C-Swat.  Then [DHR]Nova C-swat (C-Swat is named after the ASWAT robot)

Then I played CS again, under the name D.  So much fun.

Then FireArms,  early '02.  Dark Freja and then Red Dragon.

Then NS '02/ under the name Dark Nova.  That changed to Smoke Nova in November when I registered.  It's been that ever since.

Why Smoke Nova?  Smoke = cuz my eyes, in some light, are smoke grey instead of blue.  Nova = Multi-light-year destroyer caused by a sun's death.  Often but not always resulting in a Quantum Singularity.

Although mine's pretty simple, rad4Christ means radical for Christ.

Basically I had this name for a long time, named after a teen center I was developing to open that never manifested. The Slogan of the center, was RUR4C? Are you radical for Christ. Basically meant are you willing to do anything to share the message of Jesus Christ with the world. When I started playing online, my nick was jesuspunk, but it started being used, to my annoyance. so I settled on rad4Christ. I wanted to make sure, that, although I'll never cram my beliefs down your throat, you should know where I stad, and that my beliefs are the most important thing in my life, and affects every aspect of it.

The [mmi] tag is my little invention too. I began playing CS back in the EARLY beta, like, 1.0 beta. IMHO, it was much better then. When you died, and the round ended, your guns stayed on the ground for thirty seconds, so instead of buying new ones, we'd all race to get ones laying on the ground and have a fire fight in the midst... ahh, those were the days... Well, I got to be pretty good at it, and clans began to ask me to join. I never liked clans, so I came up with a "clan" tag to get ppl to leave me alone by thinking I was already in one. [mmi] stands for Me, Myself, and I. Pretty simple.

Back in the days before internet i used to call myself "HotShot". Back when all my brother and i would do is play our little crappy dos and windoes 3.1 computers ofer the lan; mostly C&c, duke nukeum, Mech Warrior, and Doom (Those were the days). Soon after I discovered internet chatrooms at my friend's house. Of course HotShot was taken. So i sat and that about what kind of cool name i could use. It had to be something completely origional, while still similar to my old name. So, after much stairing mindlessly at the computer, i came up with a very simple name. i was thinking at the time: "You shoot, it goes BANG".

Arnold, Win? But he's still.... Only human

Forsaken

The origin of my name Forsaken comes from the Action Half-Life mod.  I used to go by the name [Bebop]Ein and yes it was very unoriginal. It was used mainly when playing with the roommates in our little [Bebop] clan.

When I eventually joined an AHL clan everyone gave me crap because [Bebop]Ein wasn't a name that struck fear into the hearts of small rodents or something. So I chose a name that meshed well with the other members who had names such as Preacher, Deliverance, Revelation, Vindication, etc.

I also chose Forsaken because I was a big Wheel of Time fan back in the day before the recent books started to drag on and suck.

Actually, bump for a lot of our newer members who might be as curious about this as I was. Also, lets get some of the newer folks posting the reasoning behind their names as well, eh?

It all started back in the days when the only thing we had was a crappy computer and LunarStorm.se, a site full of annoying 14year old kiddos (including me). <i had too come up with a name so i just took one of my favourite bands, The Clash, and added "en".

Go innovative(ety?)!!!

Oh my, as several of you know, the boojum part of my name takes the cake and is WINNAR in the long-story catagory.

When I first started playing online in TFC I was known as just "Snark" because I loved them in HL. I forget what exactly I was doing but I ran across Lewis Carroll's poem The Hunting of the Snark, which I read with much haste, and after finishing that I changed my name to this.

clicky for those of you who have not read the poem and do not know about the boojum part

I consider myself an avid physics nerd.  Also, torque is a pun b/c its what i like to do to the other team in games.  Finally, it's good for voicecomm, unlike X-Y-Z(j/k olo)  2k7=college graduation year.  Yup, I'm a fish at Texas A&M University.  The name originated for quake 3 when I couldn't think of anything else ;)

wow that is probably the best written post i've seen in a while.  perhaps i should use caps and proper grammar and make the text flow a bit more next time

Back when TF first came out for QW (playing it under Q1 kinda blew) some friends and I started a clan, and decided to make it Warhammer-40k-themed... so I changed my name to Plaguebearer, the name of the daemon servants of Nurgle, Plague Lord of Chaos.  And, I always played medic, loved running up, tagging someone with bioweapon, and escaping while they died...
God, I'm old.

Oh yeah... back in the days, my nick used to be F*ckingBullsh*t (don't ask why), anyway, I got bored of it and looked for something new.
I tried to find a cool nick that was absolutely unrelated to CS (which I used to play at that time), since I always chuckled at other people when I saw them having names like 'Dirty Sock' or whatever.
This is how I ended up having this one, and if you feel like it, you can go find yourself an English<->German dictionary and go look it up (though it might be possible that you will not find it since it is a combination of two words, and the first one who will find out where to split the word and what it means gets a double-chocolate-with-alot-of-frosting cookie).

I've been sticking to this name ever since, and I can proudly say that the change was quite a time ago and that this name has been only my second nick that I ever really used.
