I dunno but somehow Voicecomm is kinda echoy in large areas whereas it isn't in smaller areas...

Of course to hear it you gotta keep recording just a little longer.

(Good place seems to be Metal's RR for me)

Hmmm BUS eh?

Let's look at what we know about Flayra.

1) He cares little for what the community thinks.

2) His idea of a 'good thing' is everyone elses idea of total crap.

3) He's completely obsessed with competative play, somehow thinking that when NS goes retail, they're going to go out and buy 15 copies apiece.

I have a feeling the BUS is some goofy stupid competative matchup system that will be a huge letdown. There have been hints at a competetive matchup system before.

My only hope is that with him dissolving the Vet system, he'll listen to the playtesters more.

Fat chance.

Hey some of the PTs did play.   ^_^

As for the BUS, I really don't know.  But on the bright side it sounds like the PTs will be important again.

I personally will subscribe to the theory that Flayra is out of ideas and he made that announcement for the sole purpose of creating threads like this, so he can browse through the speculation and find some new good ideas to implement.  :D  You should see the amount of ideas thrown forward on the NS forums.

Bah. I've got three words and a symbol for you:

Ideas & Suggestions Forum

Yep. And if you've been involved in NS for more than a week, that will make you laugh. Why is I&S a laughingstock? Because no one reads it. It's just a trash can for people to throw their ideas about the game. The Public Beta forum has turned into the same thing. Public Beta 1 came out, people played and posted their opinions. A wee time later, Flay ACTUALLY READ the thread and implemented some ideas from it. That's the last time any dev has indicated that they took any interest at all in what the public had to say about NS.

Meh, I'll stop here so this doesn't turn into another of my rants, as this is my prime subject to rant on when it comes to NS. But yeah, they don't want to hear anyone's input.

I really hope its not a global stats system.  That would suck.  Or at least, I hope there's a way to block the stats system on individual servers, if that is the case.

It would most likely be a variable, just like spawn protection.

I don't think its gonna be a global stats system though.... Maybe....

I believe it will be a way to virtually implement a sheer rock wall, a "clorf" if you will, on every map. Upon said clorf, there shall be a series of remote controlled lerks, or "Lorks". These "lorks" shall proceed in sporing any marine that passes until a sizeable number of shotguns, or "shirtguns" have been dropped. After in which the lorks shall flee the clorf, in search of a safer, less shirtgun infested area.

Oh, and a giant statue of ANeM on every map.

well, lets see if voicecomm IS really echo-y in large areas, it may be the "aliens can hear marines" idea (note how they seem to be working on voicecomm: player names always black, commander background white, stuff)

I can't resist.
Its a special BUS that the commander puts the marines in so they don't rambo off in odd directions.

I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist

well now that i can see BUS is most likely a program that when completed to its full form, it installs into your comp and the T- virus  is spewed out of your speakers to turn you and your loved ones into a flesh eating zombiezzzzz!!!!!!!111

i mean comeon, cant you even see the umbrella corps in the backround of the main page Logo? all u gotta do is zoom in 400 pixels

Of course! There will be drop ships that finally drop the long awaited nukes (or reinforcements if you research these instead)! No one should wonder what it is anymore.
