i beleive the system is the weapon sounds.

They get progressivly better sounding (from a small thumbtack launcher to an actual weapon) as you get weapon upgrades.

Finally, there is also one big new system that XP-Cagey, Joev, and myself are working on that will open up lots of possibilities. We will be making a big announcement about this system as we get closer to releasing it, but it will suffice to say that we think it will transform how NS is played. We're really excited about it, and I think you guys will love it. Stay tuned.

The first phase of the BUS is most likey a info gathering tool only, we are sending info to somewhere everytime we play. I believe this because how are we supposed to beta test a secret? We cant...we dont know what to look for. So my guess is we are stress testing a new ONLINE system for NS but what that is I can say for sure.

There are several reasonably ideas floating around one being a global stats system. Problem with this is first there are many stats programs out there already, second it dosnt "transform how ns is played" in anyway, and lastly it does not apeal to the masses. Somthing like a stats system would only be of use to claners and people that just want to pwn. So I can say that this idea, though good, is probobly not the BUS.

The second idea I've heard is a player matching system, almost like a stats system but it puts you together with people that are you own skill. This however might "transform how ns is played" but not likely most people dont like to play with strangers and will contue to frequent their regular server. Also again...this only pertains to a select amount of people not the whole NS community at large. So I believe this is out also.

I don't know for sure, but I think it's going to somehow incorporate Koolio the beer delivery robot into NS.

thanks for ze flame, bozo, it was a GUESS.  a bad one, albiet, but not worthy of such harsh flamage.  I don't know if its just me or not, but the weapons DO sound better once you get the upgrades.  The lmg sounded like a BB gun at level 0 and sounded much better at level 3

That already happened before.. its just that the previous different sounds weren't different enough for people to be able to tell.
if you had custom sounds (as I previously had before they were over written by b4) you would have been able to tell.. Easily.

As for the big unnanounced system.. I've been noticing some things popping up in my own server logs that I don't remember happening in b3.. Nothing amazing, just things like map validility checks.. Now, if they did not actually come up in b3, then I do think these may be part of the system, but not the entire system itself, obviously.. Since beta4 is only phase1..
