Honestly, I've moved to CS:S. Yes, a form of the mod I left for NS. It's not brain surgery, but it's mindless fun in the right community, and I've found a pretty decent one. Well adminned, not overly modded, and great group of regulars. LM is/was that, but the game that brought us together has died. So, what do we do, go to something like CS:S/DOD:S with more appeal, or just close the community?

I'd rather go to classic dod myself, too much of a nadespam fest in DOD:S. CS:S is almost the same as CS too, except it has ragdolls and more lag and worse netcode, so yeah. Pretty isn't a good reason to choose a game, if any of the source games get some more features besides physics then I'll jump on the bandwagono, LIKE VEHICLES!

You don't necessarily need to have current admins admin the CS/S servers, or not even anyone from this community if need be. I'm sure there are plenty of responsible and mature people in those player banks to fill a few admin slots.

In order to make a server ranked, EA not only demands that you give them complete access to your box, but will also greatly limit your access to your own box. And if a server is not ranked, nobody plays on it, or so I am told. This community doesn't have enough BF2 players to fill a server on its own, so it'd have to be ranked to attract players from outside. And a ranked server is out of the question.

BF1942, any source mod, any HL mod, I'm easy. Anything super high end, is a no go (i.e. BF2).

I suggest 42. Its easy to run, there's a good selection of stable enough mods. You have the core game, or one of the Desert Combats, Galactic Conquest, or Interstate. Its also cheap to pick up, for anyone who (for whatever reason) never bought it.

either way, couldn't a MUD be run in the background of almost any computer held together with more than gum.. So find something else as well :p

I am back from vaction, i quit my job. and nw its time for some game based sweetness. ofcourse tonight i have a small drinking engagement involving a large number of folks i knwo being home for thanksgiving. but still. i shall be around a pc nearly all the time so if im on irc just ask and usually i'll be up for something.

oh, also if there is any interest i may put up a serious sam 2  coop server from time to time. have to see how it pings from the office/ set up some routing..
