X_Stickman gave me a link on the night of release.. missed my friends halloween party just to download it. Surely wasnt dissapointed when i got it. I was on AOL 56k dialup back then and well.. yeah.. it sucked due to my ping.

Still fun though.

Ok then... be ACTIVE in IRC! Just idling won't help one bit y'know. :D

Ok, you win, I said it badly... ;) I won't use IRC in any way except for to call an admin or such as neccessary. (I've done this twice since I came here)....

The point is that like a junkie who needs to avoid his heroin, I need to avoid IRC...

zerwalter...

ns rocks

that is all

Dynamicman out...
Sorry, but while the dimensions on your sig are just right, it's a little big. See if you can compress it a little to get below the 22kb limit. -lolfighter

Yeah, zerwalter still plays every now and then.
It's twice as clear as heaven and twice as loud as reason.

a friend of mine on my MSN list had his name saying something about Natural Selection being out, so i asked him what it was. Thats when i remembered it was that cool looking mod i've seen banners for on other sites, so i went and downloaded it and played it a few days with a few of my friends from schol. They all stopped playing within the week (they were CS nubs), but I've been playing since 1.02
This is going to be some kind of reunion, isn't it?

Before NS, I was a regular on Firefalls -V- TFC server. One day, someone came in and started talking about this new mod that involved aliens versus marines with all these different systems, resources, tech trees, evolutions, hives, and so on and so fourth. It was enough to pique my interest, and since TFC was becoming slightly tiresome, I decided to give it a look.

I d/l'ed NS, swiped patch 1.03, and never looked back.  :)

jefe got me in, the fft server got me hooked

story:
jefe and bm were in the same math class, jefe and bm played cs together.
jefe found ns and decided to tell bm about it.
jefe: "well, it's like an rts. you have the marines and aliens"
bm: "rts + fps?"
jefe: "yeah, the marines have a commander that drops guns and units and stuff"
bm: "no alien commander"
jefe: "no, they do their own stuff, they start off with only a bite attack but can upgrade"
bm: "so you have aliens chomping on the marines' units?"
jefe: v_v

I was just starting up my freshman year of college and this kid down the hall told me a new HL mod was coming out. I decided to give it a spin and was instantly hooked. The problem is, my college had some crap wireless line to feed the entire campus and it wasn't rare to spike to the max ping consistently.

I guess the first time I really got addicted was the following summer when we got a cable connection at home. I began playing on this pretty neat server Free SunnyD which culminated in an incredible series of games with Flayra, MonsE, LB, TommyD, etc, pretty much every mapper/dev/influential PT you can think of (I'm hesitant to name more names since it's been over a year, hehe). I think it was for the 2.01 release... but it's been a while, hehe.

Anyways, I got slotted up sometime the next couple days, and then unfortunately had to leave for evil college world where the pings were even worse than the previous year. Fortunately, the college wised up and got some new equipment for the next semester, so now I'm back in action and getting almost no res kicks, which is nice :D

And thus ends the Ballad of SydneyCarton (he's Sydney, Sydney Carton, greatest lil' hobbit of them all).

Narby's site (waaay before release) when he was working on an NS map.

Lunixmonster looks a lot like Linuxmonster. Really.
