My coworker showed me the light.  Everyone in my office was getting bored with DoD, and he had heard about this UBER COOL new mod coming out, so as soon as it was released we installed and started playing   <3

I can still remember the first week of complete nubiness we all had, not knowing anything about the game but too stubborn to read to find out how exactly to do stuff!

Bored, was looking for a teamplay mod that wasn't as stale as UT was getting. Yes, the original UT.

Last year, in the peak of my Warcraft 3 obsession, me and 3 other guys lived in a house near campus and partied all the time.  We had put all of our computers in one big room and would game together during weeknights, playing 4 on a team in Warcraft and other games.  One of them had been into NS for a while and got another into it, and they would stay up late into the night playing NS, guzzling beer, and shouting like drunken fools over the voicecomm.  Pissed me off when it was 4am on Wednesday and I had class the next morning, but eventually I had to try it.  And I loved it.  Been playing obsessively non-stop for over a year now.

My TFC clan posted about it (and S&I) the summer of 02'. I read up on it, decided it sounded like ass, and played some more TFC and S&I. I was given a copy of it on a CD by a buddy at a Halloween LAN party that year, installed it, and quit for two weeks after having the worst 3 games I've ever had. Came back later and resumed play when a friend bugged me to.

My brother played it a long time ago. I remember the circular building sprite, it was cool :D . Then he stopped playing and like 6 months later I remembered this cool mod that he was playing (don't ask me how I remembered the name  ) and so I go and download it. I got hooked and have been playing it for about a year now.

Funny thing is, I 'introduced' NS to him about a month after I started playing it and he got hooked. Apparently he had no recolection of ever having seen the mod before and claimed that I was, and I quote, "full of ****". So I guess I got to intoduce my introducer to Natural Selection

Friend i had was keeping tabs on it while it was still under developement.  Tried it when it came out, but since dialup is t3h $P4\/\//|/ ()/= $474|\|, i only played for like 2 weeks till i went back to whatever i'd been playing before.  But i REMEMBERED it.  kept tabs on the ns website, and when college broadband came around, guess what i found my way to?  The LunixMonster.  Now i'm back on dialup, and was playing regularly till 3b5 came out.  155meg d/l is not friendly on dialup.  theoretically, supposed to get dsl by next week, so i should be back to play some time soon.  lurve...

My friend, BlaqWolf introduced me to it, but at first I wasn't that interested. Then he showed me how to play (before I even played), so I started off knowing what to do pretty much.

I was just randomly cruising either the DoD website, or maybe it was cs.net, and there was a blurb in the news about a new mod called Natural Selection.  I went, read about it, downloaded, and never looked back.

There was a space of a few months directly after Steam came out that I stopped playing, but then 3.0 came out and I was right back on the train.

Back when i was in a CS clan a clan mate was trying to get a NS divison of the clan started. He was ranting and raving on how much better it was then CS because it was more teamwork involved/sensitive. You dont nesscaily have to be all that good to do good. Though I wasnt all that bad at CS my interest in it was starting to dwindle. So I gave it a shot and here I am... been playing since a release before 1.0 and I still suck at it...   <_<  :(  T_T

Sancho did it. Back when I was active in an Action HL clan, he was in my clan's sister/arch-nemesis clan. So we played together all the time. We got a few folks together from the groups trying out random HL mods, and then we tried NS. I was basically hooked and Sancho taught me a good deal so that when I first started pubbing I didn't have to deal with a painful learning process in public. <3 Sancho. And now here I am about a year later so deeply involved in the game that I may never escape. Of course, the old mod club does yell at me every once in a while for not ever playing mods with them anymore.  :help:

I found it through a school friend, who just briefly told me about it, then i tried it that weekend.....then i drew pretty much everyone in my school into LANing it.

I was hanging out with a friend, who had a friend that wanted to show us some 'cool game' where we could play as some aliens, climbing on walls and biting some space marines. I absolutely loved how everything looked, and the idea of playing as this alien was too cool. At the time of NS' release, or at the time of this friend showing us the mod, I didn't have the internet (long story), but as soon as I got the internet back I searched for the mod and got into it. It's funny sometimes if I bring up NS in a conversation, the friend who showed us the game is usually confused as to what I'm talking about; I stuck with it, playing it as much as I used to play TFC, while my one friend played it every so often with me (enough to know the different aliens, how much they cost, how commanding works, etc), while his friend had only played it for a couple weeks.
