The calculator doesn't take into account that the first shot fires instantly.  Not that it matters, as all the attack rate values are way off.

When standing still, you are completely invisible if I'm not mistaken.
You are still 5% visible when not moving, but it's much more difficult to spot the faint distortion of a cloaked alien when it isn't moving.

I haven't played beta 6, but I doubt 30% visibility would be all that difficult to see.  Current cloaking is 5% visibility, and it can usually be seen if you're paying attention.

No #'s is not because of no advertising. The no # rule is there because the # in names screws up the server logs.

Then why doesn't anyone say so when this is being enforced, and why was MrGunner punished for changing his name to POUNDcri.nner?

Quote
Creating such a rule will only mean people will insert swearwords before their name and then claim immunity because "ogm mah tag, j00 are discriminating, ololbbq!!11".
Yes.  Just like people will change their names to swear words if we allow them to choose their own names.

So the spawncamping rule is there to patch up a problem brought in by yet another rule?

You can probably guess what my suggestion woulda been, but since they aint going to change that, I got nothing more to add.

If your suggesting that they simply make a rule disallow stat whoring then your not thinking very clearly.  It is the hardest possible thing to prove a person is doing, and is even more suseptable to admin bias then any other rule I can possibly think of.

I believe he is referring to the rule against concession of the game.

I simply haven't seen the constant premature concessions that some people claim they saw in the absence of a such a rule.  I played on a server for over a year-and-a-half that allowed F4'ing, and I found such incidences to be extremely rare.  Extremely rare as in occurring only once or twice in my entire time playing there.

I thought the point of this thread was to find out what people don't like about the server.  Holding our tongues doesn't accomplish anything.

The argument that spawncamping doesn't help the team is absolutely ridiculous.  Aliens who are distracted in the hive or waiting in the spawn queue cannot fight marines in other areas of the map.  I'm sure you can see how this benefits the team.

Also,

Do they hoard res?
this can be a good thing, but generally, to burn 40 res gorging and dropping two rts or 3 chambers is going to help a lot more than saving to fifty for a fade/hive, as the res you dropped will help others gain the res for the hive. Chambers keep your team alive longer.
Perhaps, but only if the team already has two or three Fades or players saving for them.  It's pointless to put up a resource chamber if your team lacks the capability to defend it.

I think one thing that should make it somewhat obvious shotguns are overpowered is when the commander suits up the entire team with HA/shotty, even though he has plenty of res for HMGs with a couple GLs.

Then that is a bad commander.  HMGs are better than shotguns against every alien lifeform.

We already know there are admins who will ban someone for being a good player, but you have to understand that whoever runs the server has the perogative to do as they wish. They're providing you with free service by allowing you to play there, and what they do is up to them. If you don't like a particular server, or you aren't able to play on a specific server for whatever reasons, just let it go; there are always other servers to play on. Whining to us that you've been banned from other servers is pointless because nobody here has any control over what the other server operators do or how they act. The rules and guidelines set here are set for a reason, but that doesn't mean you can't play here and enjoy yourself.

That is entirely beside the point.  His comment, "I didn't know being banned from servers meant that you did something," was in response to a previous argument that his ban from numerous other servers meant he must have been doing something wrong.

Also consider that it is likely to be damaging the hive and any nearby chambers.

the rules on lm should stand how they are since they sorta address this problem with the Don't be a llama rule :D

Not really.  That rule is far too open to interpretation depending on what actions one considers 'lame'.

ok the point is this guy is in cri (a clan known for thier masses of scripts and a lamer called Forlorn) & he can't weld us because mp_blockscripts is on. Esuna clearly found it funny as did a few other marines.
I found it quite funny at the time but I guess I must have a Kafkaesque sense of humour or something. I think its the fact that for something as simple as welding, these people have to write a script to automate it when all they actually have to do is hit the 4 key & then press their +attack key.

Have to?  Perhaps consider that they may have wrote it merely for convenience.  Like almost every script, as a matter of fact.

I can only assume you were fighting marines who didn't know where to shoot.

In any case, devour must be removed before the Onos can be strengthened.  Otherwise, it would become too powerful at hit-and-run tactics with devour.

That's true too. From what I've heard, a 3.x Onos alone is not the uber killing machine that it once was. In 2.x, a well-played Onos was almost invincible as long as he had two hives to back him up. Blame the rest of the team for not helping him.

Not really.  In 2.x the Onos died in around 30 HMG bullets.  Admittedly it had a much smaller hitbox, but it still died much faster than the current Onos against marines who knew where to shoot.

dev, actually i think they gave us a release date for 1.05 or something, then decided on the release date because of all the changes they were gonna make(but hadn't done yet) they were gonna cahnge the name, and wiat a long ass time before they released it.

It was 1.1; and no, they never gave a release date.

Meh, cara is 2 extra bullets.

Four, actually.  Nevertheless I agree that, on Skulks, movement upgrades are more effective than defense upgrades.  The thing is, against decent marines, a one-hive alien team must rely on Fades to control the map.  Upgraded Skulks can fill this role to some extent, but they are not nearly as effective.  And defense upgrades are the most effective upgrades for Fades.

Doesn't autoretry not recognize resslots and joins when there is a slot available?  Before I got my slot, I had to sit there, masshing my enter key on "refresh", camping for the 15/17

It depends on how the reserved slot is configured, I believe.  On some servers, it is hidden; this means non-reservists can use auto-retry, but it also means reservists must force a connect to join a full server.
