I've become addicted to the trailer, but I must know; Those of you who have played the beta, would it be worth playing and paying for?

We don't have cameras here in pastry land, so when I managed to build one using a recipe some dude named McGyver gave me with gum, an old pepsi can and a wooden stick, you can imagine my surprise.

No, I was just bored. And it kinda reminded me of Sonic and his wierdyness incarnate pictures.

I'll make this as simple as I can. Hope I'm not breaking any rules.

Beard or no beard?

Lolfightar. I play every saturday. Most of my army of Space Wolves consists of paper patches and "stand-ins".

As for Dawn of War, I'm hoping that they bring in the various fanctions of the different armies.

Eldar armies have craftworlds, Space Marines have chapters, Chaos have their four gods, Orks have different mobs too.

And erh...They better bring in the Imperial Guard pretty fast. I mean, the orks can get IG tanks, but there are no IG there?!

This will be quite fine    ^_^

I've been lacking both an avatar and a sig for quite some time, so if you'd scrounge something up for me, it'd be cool.

I was thinking something frozen. I already had a few incredibly lame attempts of a skulk in an icecube, but that was...icky.

So yeah. Something from NS frozen. Hell, anything frozen. My original name was Sustained Explosion

The Eldar pretty much look like that in the board game too, yeah ^_^
They're more wussy in DoW though. At least in my opinion.

The reason you don't use the drop-pods to kill the enemy is that they're dropped from orbital range using a tracking device on ground level. They're not too precise. Also, most areas where you call one down, you have a friendly fleet protecting the dropship. This goes for the other races too, hence you can't just fly over the camp of the enemy and hurl stuff at 'em. That, and they're hella-expensive. That's for the Space Marines, anyway.

The Orcs are less cost efficient and would hurl stuff at the enemy if they could. But they're even more inaccurate than the Drop pods used by Space Marines, and the enemy would probably just move aside.

That side, erh, this isn't a very realistic game. Of course you can't splatter the units of the enemy with your buildings, that'd be unbalanced and not very fun.

In the boardgame the assault marines use their bolt pistols too, but nevermind that. I think that either it glitched, or something else happened, 'cause it works fine for me. As for the "Hold ground" thing, you'll notice that there's actually two varieties of this, "Hold area" and "Stand ground". Once makes your unit protect an area, and the other makes them stand still and not move at all.

As for the the zooming ability, well, meh. That's a personal preference for you, I guess. I'm quite content with the max view. But! even in the WH40k game you can't communicate too well between large distances. The enemy will attempt to bring down your communication or even worse, take a sneak peek. Hence, no orbital sattelites.

Also, remember this is a beta, duuuude. Although you probably won't like the final version too well either, just remember it's not finished yet.

No fan on mine. It must be some odd 3rd party manufactured stuff that screwed me over. I'm shopping for a Radeon 9800 pro these days, I dearly hope it's the video card that's the problem

Much appreciated, everyone!

My mum just held a speech

And erh...I've been able to watch porn and drink since...well, there's no law against porn in Denmark, and the drinking is at age 16. The real biggie is the ability to get a driver's license. Pretty costly though :/

Thanks, y'all!

But...so expensive!

Anyway, before this degenerates into a spam-fest, I'd like to pose yet another point:

I don't think it's my gfx card after all.

See, I checked it again right after a crash, and it wasn't exactly scolding. Plus, while it doesn't have a fan, I believe it has something smart and fancy called passive cooling. Nothing I understand, but anyway...

I'm pretty darn sure it's a hardware problem, since my PC acts exactly the way Rad4Christ said, numlock being frozen on. I'm gonna try out "Memtest86" and see if it might be bad RAM. Still, if anyone is able to recognize this problem, I still desperately need help. Now I can't even play NS anymore :(

In addition, if anyone has a Geforce FX5200, I'd like to know the optimal settings for the little bugger. That fixed my ability to play Lineage 2 before.

My gcard was hawt hawt hawt. So it's overheating. Dammit. And here I've been trying to fix it with software. Welp, time to order a fan :/

I think Uranium will have to explain things as we go, if we go.

I know for one that I can't figure out, heck, barely recognize most of the things in these house rules. I hope it'll be easier when we're in-game.

But err...These house rules are supa-complicated imho. I'll need the dummie versions ^_^;;

Rad4christ, numlock stays on no matter what I do, so it's a hardware problem then. Blast. I haven't checked the fan on the gcard yet, but if it does turn out to be a faulty gcard, anybody got any suggestions for a new one? Preferrably cheap AND capable ^_^ I've got about 160$ to spend on a new one, though I'd settle for spending less.

Bobthejanitor, Win XP pro, no signs of blue at all. Just suddenly black.  :(

Malevolent, if I somehow by mistake overclocked it, how do I reset it?

I'll open the box later today when I get home from school and i'll check for overheating/ the fan not running.

Err, yeah. Sorry about that, but I'm not really sure what happens :s
I sit and play. Suddenly, screen goes black, sound stops. Computer is still running as far as I can tell, but I don't get any error messages and there's no way to reach Windows again. It's like the monitor suddenly looses connection to the PC.

I tried going into the BIOS menu after a crash and it said that the temperature was 50 degrees or so. As far as I understand, this isn't near overheating borders. I don't know if it's bad ram, any way to test this?

Okay. So.

My pc's been crashing randomly in a lot of different games all the time I've had it. I sit and play the game and suddenly the screen goes black and the screen goes into hibernation mode. This happens in Morrowind, Gothic 2, Warcraft 3, UT 2k4, heck, sometimes even Half-life (N0 NS 4 j00!).

I've got a AMD Athlon XP 2400+ with 512 mb DDR ram.
80 gb HD
and a Geforce FX5200.

I've tried random things, from flashing my BIOS to upgrading drivers for everything, including my mainboard, but still no workie :(

Anyone ever heard of such a problem? Anyone ever fixed such a problem? If yes, pleeease tell me how!

Also, if anyone's got a Geforce FX5200 tweaked and good, I'd like to know what settings I ought to set it to.
