And nuketheplace, you really shouldn't choose a school based on their connection  Oh and most sites cap their downloads real low anyway.  I only saw it go this high because microsoft doesn't cap their downloads

i've been avoiding this thread simply because i know the first 2 posters in it personally; however, the network admins here feel it is necessary to close off p2p ports and generally cap the bandwidth alot ment to everyone to around 1.08 MB d/ls.  I once asked one of the admins what the d/l speed would be w/o the cap but he didn't know since the cap was put on before he started working for them <_<

Communications 2.5 megabits per second
Storage 303.6 kilobytes per second
1MB file download 3.4 seconds

well just for a godd time i decided to test my 256x256 dsl that i share with two roomates who were home at the time.

im not unhappy with my results
