I see some of you guys posting on the Unknown Worlds forum. WASAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP.

Browsing through 'new' posts, there is one thread that was created in 2003. SEVEN YEARS AGO! HOLY INFLAMED BUDDHA ON A SEATLESS UNICYCLE BATMAN.

Where are y'all at? In life? In game? How has the wicked and arbritrary seas of life treated you? Well? Ill?

hola hoots!

Where am I at?  Well not really gaming.  When I heard NS2 was coming out last fall I updated my rig a little and preordered, it'll be obsolete again by the time it really gets released.  I play L4D2 from time to time... not much though...

I've moved back to my home state (from CA to MD to MN - my home).  I'm a mere 3 miles from the Mall of America.   I'm a stay at home mom now - I have two ducklings.  I'm pondering returning to work - but not sure.  I DO work PT as a web dev (something I swore I'd never do, I hate html!)  but at least it's something!

Hmmm what else what else... excited to be going to Vegas in May.  Training for my first 5k in May as well - I guess I decided I've been a couch potato for all too long.  Lots has changed, and yet it feels like not much has changed.

What's new w/ you!?

After L4D wore off sometime in early 2009, I didn't really play that many online games. I recently started playing them again (L4D2 and Shattered Horizon). I cannot recommend Shattered Horizon enough (if your rig can run it). Zero G and full 360 combat is pretty awesome. I play most of the big single player games (Bioshock 2, Dragon Age, Mass Effect 2, etc). And of course I'm looking forward to NS2.

As for real life stuff, I graduated from college in May 2009, which was definitely not the opportune time to find a job (Michigan). I plan on going back to school for a couple of higher degrees, but I want to get a pretty decent job first since it looks good on apps and resumes. But not much has changed. I still live by the university, so what I do is still pretty much the same as the last 4 years (just more actual working).

I'm still around.  Still play CSS, DODS, TF2, L4D2, Starcraft, D2, etc.  Mostly with my brothers, but other people when I can find them.

I'm in my senior year of aerospace engineering (due to a transfer screw-up, I have to retake Chemistry in the fall, meaning I graduate in December), and then I'm looking at grad school in propulsion using liquid propellants.

As for what else I do besides gaming, I'm a participant in NASA's USLI program, heading up the payload/recovery subteam for my university's team (The Mississippi State Space Cowboys, if you're wondering.  Not my choice of name :-/)

Basically, the University gives me money to spend blowing things up.  Pretty sweet deal, I'd say.

It's awesome you are workign PT,keeping your skills up, or at least you'll be able to tell future employers you've been keeping your skills up.

Ah, two kids! Busy! I have two owlets myself, a girl and a boy. Still working full-time. Uhm. Nothing much. We moved from a condo to a townhouse in the suburbs. Winter Olympics went by without a hitch.

That's awesome you've taken up running! Good for you! I should get back on the wagon of physical activity. Programmer + gaming as a hobby == pasty and vaguely tubby Niteowl.

Excited about NS2. Not holding my breath.

Activity! ON THE FORUMS!

Be this mirage? An illusion? A prank on those who still love this community?

It is nice to see some familiar faces!

I've been good, doing the university thing. Still incredibly active and joining the reserves soon (by soon, I mean when I finish university, since boot camp is apparently in September, it'd kinda interfere with school).

Also, I've plans to either reboot this community or establish a new one. But shhh, that's a secret, don't tell anyone ;)

I may re-install NS once I'm done exams (April 9th, 2 MORE WEEKS!) for some nostalgia. Those of you in the LM steam group, prepare to be stalked (more so than I'm stalking some of you already. <3 Kodiac and bijiy and Nooblet)

Well, of course I'm only going to talk about the smart things I do.  I won't tell you about the various silly things I've done, as funny as that may be.  Unless, of course, you ask.

Aaaaaaaaaaaanyway, y'all should check out Men of War.  It's totally fun, but different from what you'd normally consider as an RTS.  It's been the latest fling for my brothers and I.

Well, I graduated with a degree in psychology, but somehow I ended up working in the Geek Squad at Best Buy (lol, I know a lot of people have a bad opinion of them, but the store I work at is on top of it at least). Now, that I've done the whole relaxing period, I started looking for an actual job in psych or marketing. So, hopefully I find something in a month or so (and it would be even more awesome if the new job paid for more schooling).

Holy shit, username and password right on the first try. AMAZING.
Anywhoo, I just finished my four year degree in Computer Science (Nerds? Where!?) I havn't been playing many games online lately, Studies and shit kinda make that hard to do on a regular basis. I'm going to Vancouver Film School next fall though for a Game design program, so in a few years I'll hopefully be a valued member of society.

Besides that, I've been doing my best to get in to crazy shenangans (typo?) in uni, I do miss all y'all from time to time though, to be perfectly honest. I'm excited for NS2!

Hows my comming? PM!

For the win

Guessed this site's password on the first try!

I graduated from U of Minn 2 years ago with a B.A. in Management Information Systems, minor in Political Science (not sure what I was thinking with that one). I work as a software developer and I travel a lot to client sites around the U.S/Canada. Bought a house in Twin Cities a couple months ago. Woo first time home buyer tax credit.

I play strategy games like Civ4/Europa Universalis 3, rpgs like Torchlight/Dragon Age, and TF2. Haven't touched WoW since october 09, I was raiding in a guild that was top 20 in the world in PvE content progression at the time.

The next games I'll take looks at going into hardcore again are Guild Wars 2, Diablo 3, and possibly NS2. Currently just putzing around casually.

Hey folks,

Glad to see ya'll again (and Niteowl still alive). We used to play so much back in the day. Jeez, when I was Ness I must have spent a whole summer playing NS. Man, Blaq, I played on a 56k for years and when I finally got onto DSL I was so much better. It was like weight training or something.

I was working at a famous casino down here in the south running tournaments, and made some connections. Now I am the operations manager at a rapidly expanding business that is somehow already worth a few million...and just a few years ago I was 18 and playing NS  :D. I don't have the time for games that I used to but I preordered NS2 the day it became available. As soon as this hitbox stuff and netcode is cleaned up in the alpha I'll be bumming around and reporting bugs with you all.

TyrNem...blah blah blah

I'm back playing Starcraft... the first one... to get myself in the mood for some NS2.

Too many good times on LM makes NS2 pretty much unmissable.
