I dont read much but, as it turns out, most of my fav. books have been banned at one point or another. An entire list of books baned for really stupid reasons. I have read about 25 to 30% of them. I really don't understand. We all have the power to change the world. whay not add something to it insted of acting on stupid fears to take away from others. Maybe im just really tired. you tell me.

We've all heard of the big book burnings that the german National Socialists staged. Those were the books on te so-called 'black list,' books that were 'bad influences on the german people.' There was another, very different list, the 'white list,' containing books that were 'suggested reading for the german people.'
When noted german author Erich Kästner (living in british exile) heard that his books had been placed on the white list, he wrote a letter to the german government demanding that his books rather be burned in the cleansing flames than be used for such smut. And so, his books were placed on the black list and burned.

Well, think of it this way.  We (most of us) live in a nation where people can sue for spilling hot coffee on themselves, AND WIN.  banning these books is simply better then being sued for milllions of dollars.  While it may not be right, its a sad thing that it is present in todays socieity.

Yea i hear people complain about suing for spilling coffee case a lot but don't know the whole story.  Although i agree there are plenty of frivolous lawsuits out there (not talking about bush's law that limits when you can call a class action lawsuit against a corporation for making you sick, or suing for millions... gg big business)

another part of whats wrong with our world. im trying to come with a better way of doing things but, it a lot harder than it looks. the "human factor" really makes things difficult. A dictator ship is simply out of the question. there are to many people for one Person to look after so.... that leaves checks and balances system (our goverment). we need a simple vague sat of rules (guidelines really) (a constiution) but, people take a dvantage of it and then we need set in stone laws and  this is where it all falls apart. The problem with socity is people.

what im trying to say is insted of complaining about our world (which i do a lot) we need to find a better way. I say develop a new goverment(on paper) write a book about it. or rather about people who live in this new world to show how you have thought of every thing. Publish it and allow our goverment to ban it...in fear and let the revelotion begin!!!

If it was that hot, it would certainly make the outside of the cup at least hot to the touch.. and would you really put something that hot between your legs?  I haven't been in a car yet that doesn't have cup holders..

When ordering coffee (or tea for that matter), it should be assumed that the liquid can be anywhere up to that temperature, and it should be permissible to assume that everybody assumes this. The law exists to protect us from OTHERS, not ourselves. When the law punishes OTHERS for OUR mistakes, it doesn't work. The law exists to place blame and punishment WHERE IT BELONGS.

But on the other hand, if an establishment is selling boiling liquid in a container that cannot withstand 100 degrees Celsius, they do deserve the blame.

styrofoam, when 2-3mm think (dq cup size) begins to fail (fail as in poke = splat) when heated to 90-95C if i remember my chemistry teacher correctly
