This one bakery in town did it for their 10th anniversary, 'it' being a record for the most lit candles on a cake :p

One big cake!
The numerical candles stating there are 25,625

Then we got to the fun part and bunch of people lit it, then it kinda spread by itself. :p
Fire!

After all was said and done...
The parking lot got waxed.
and the cake...
...was rather toasty.

That is pretty cool. That was a huge fire. I wouldn't of wanted the job placing those candles, though.

I would have thought the candles would need to remain lit independent of eachother.. I mean, the entire cake was just engulfed in flame. That should not count. :p

we had a birthday party for mary, and we ran out of matches to light the cake, so dad went out to the garage and got the blowtorch. . .I think the last part of the story is rather self explanitory, eh?
