can't remember anything stupid
first game on ns_nothing went smoothly, i actually helped lock down powersilo

then we went to tannith, and there was a fade
"wtf is THAT? give guns! need big guns!"
"that's a fade, shoot it. guns on the way"
so, as we were waiting for our guns, i repeatedly suicided the fade, i think i even got a knife shot in before the *thunk*

I think everybody's first mistake in 1.0 was going gorge when the alien team already had one, and having the whole team calling you a noob while the admin slays you.

it took  me a while before i got rather good at gorge and then i started being a battle gorge

man i remember the first time i took out 3 rines as a battle gorge. i miss babblers though but i still battle gorge with the best of them

It was ns_nancy, I joined lategame marines, and two onos popped in and decided to eat our turrets. I thought this was like 3 minutes into the game, judging by the kills :\ (10 kills, 32 deaths or something)

Next game started, and I would not leave base 30 seconds in game because I thought there were onos down there. "No way comm, there are rhinoes dwn there." The sad thing was that the comm believed me... and said "Really?" Then he left. 5-10 minutes later of camping with no comm, onos really did come into our base. Next round I played aliens.

Marines got heavies. Repeated ad nauseam back and forth for about 20 games before I decided to start a LAN Game and realize my error.

1.04 gorge was fun, people actually protected me
a 2 unit escort and redemption == battlegorge deluxe

In 1.04, the gorge was the celebrity, you got escorts everywhere, everyone called for stuff to be put here and there, when a marine killed you there was 10 seconds of ridiculously loud marine voice spam, and you got all the res.

Gorges in 1.04 were easier to kill for some reason though... maybe because there was only one of them.

nubbiest thing i did in the beggining was as a rine, spawned in just as a skulk killed our IP, com gave me a shotty, I was the only rine sides the comm left, he drops an I.P. and when i see a skulk, i right click, trying to do the double-shot a la halflife on him... gg

That's not even that nubbish. I still right click accidentally quite often when I'm trying to attack and whipping my mouse about. Most hilarious was when a group of HAs  were shooting up vent hive on caged. I leaped in as a skulk, intending to at least hurt them a bit before I got splattered. Went to left click and start biting, accidentally hit right, popped up menu, whipped mouse around and clicked again before I even knew what was happening and suddenly: EGG! All the HAs were laughing so much they almost didn't shoot me before I finished gestating into... whatever I hit. I still have no idea.

I'm considering just putting popupmenu on mouse3 and making mouse1 and 2 both for attacking.

Gorges in 1.04 were literally weaker than Gorges in 2.01.  A 1.04 Gorge took 15 LMG bullets to kill, whereas a 2.01 Gorge takes 22.

Oh there was that time I evolved to an onos right on top of the armory...



And got away with it.
