I laughed at him when he was crawling around with no legs and one arm on fire...does that make me a bad person?

haha yea the vader "NOOOO" sequence was hilarious.  It was quiet in the theater at that part but i was laughing very loudly is what so funny.  Just the "NOOOOOOOOOOO" in the mechanical vader voice was great and how he got up all frakenstein and stuff.

Also the part where he was being burned alive was awesome and when he was wrything (sp?) on the table was a nice touch.

I was never a huge fan of star wars and only remember bits and pieces of EP1 and 2 (i had no idea what was going on and wanted to shoot jar jar) but this one was actually pretty good, CG has really come a long way those battles looked great.  Also that lightsaber battle on that sinking thing of metal on the lava planet was awesome looking!

Pretty good all in all, but i still think they ruined that "NOOOOOOO" part... just totally out of character.  And then it was like gee, their already building the death star?  Suddenly everybody on deck is dressed in 70s like clothing and look exactly like they did in the original?  Whatever... interesting social commenentary (but cheesy and crappy acting) when anakin's girl said "Liberty dies when theirs a standing ovation".  But whatever, overall pretty good

Saw it tonight, a bit late... but pretty good! A big improvement over the first two. Jarjar didn't say a word! I was tickled.

Notice as we progress to the future episodes, the suckage goes down proportionatley. I mean, the second half (or even last third) of this movie was actually GOOD! See how that works?

Yeah, the noo part kinda sucked. However, though, the building of the death star at the end of ep 3 was rather intentional, for continuity purposes (as the death star is complete at the beginning of ep 4... and 20 years seems to be a pretty good stretch of time it takes to build one). The reason for the clothing, is again, continuity purposes. Palpatine managed to create his empire, and puts in uniform regulations (or something, whatever. Continuity, wouldn't make sense if they had flashy new clothing that didn't match Ep 4-6).

I like how they included a lot of tiny details in Ep 3. Things such as Obi-Wan picking up Anakin's blue lightsaber, and him learning how to communicate when he's dead (blue glowie thingy). What really interested me though, was seeing the evolution of the ships. You see the beginnings of the classic wedge shaped imperial ships (star destroyers? I can't remember *shrug*) and the shuttles too.

One of the "big" scenes to me was when Anakin attacked the jedi academy. Mainly when the children were hiding in the council room and Anakin walks in. "Master Anakin? What will we do?" (or something like that) and he turns on his lightsaber.

See I kinda understood where he was coming with the frankenstein bit. If you had your legs replaced with bionic limbs they might be a bit stiff at first  :D

Did anyone else notice the man in the corvette at the end who Organa talked to was called Antilles?

Was that Wedge with an even worse haircut or his father?

Also was that Moff Tarkin with the slightly less skull face stood next to Vader and the Emperor at the end?

Also liked the fact after having all the clones turn on his enemies for him the Emperor doesn't keep them around in case they do the same to him.

Love looking for details like that.

Yea it was. Did you notice he was CGI from the neck up (at least)? Either that actor passed away, or there simply isn't makeup technology to make an old man from 20 years ago appear 20 years younger than that now. Essentially, it'd have to be a convincing 40 year make over! Hope you're following me here...

And I was under the impression that every storm trooper is a clone. Someone with more info correct me if need be!

I think I read somewhere that after a while they started recruiting ppl for the stormtroopers? I have no idea where I read that though. Perhaps  true SW geek can speak up!

Stormtroppers are brainwashed normal people, I think, theres a central training planet for them called Carida or something.

Like I said would you really trust clones after using code 66 yourself?  :D

He did that as well but since the only way to defeat a jedi is through trickery, he had a codeword installed into all the clones (code 66) that made them turn on their allies. Meant the majority of them got shot in the back by people they thought they could trust.

I must admit the part about being on high ground was a bit lame. How many times were the heroes on low ground and still won?

I dunno, no where can I remember a jedi being at lower ground and jumping OVER another jedi. That's what kenobi was telling him not to do. However, it does seem pretty lame, I never knew they had that much of a limit to their ubar force jump. I mean, yoda can lift a fricking X-Wing fighter out of the swamp, but anakin can't get a few extra feet to his jump!?

and kenobi was down a pit in part 1 managed to jump over his head. Plus Luke jumped out of a pit in empire strikes back rather than gettting frozen!!

Sounds to me like he didn't know how to end the fight sequence and let kenobi win since anankin was the bad ass.

Well, I'd say you're partially right on the second part. Clearly, Anakin is stronger and faster, not to mention younger. He couldn't have Obi-Wan just use the Force to kill Anakin; that wouldn't be very Jedi-like. I think the only way he could have had Obi-Wan win was to make use of his expertise or something. It could have been done better, but it wasn't too bad. You know, maybe he could have just had Anakin attack him in wild rage and make a mistake or something.
