Rome:  Total War
Dawn of War

Way to involved in the RTW campaign to wander into the older stuff right now.  Stupid Egyptians are causing a ruckus.

omg just take over their capital's and bribe their armies with no generals = easy win.

i hold about 38 territories right now, playing as the house of Jilii (da red guys)

biggest problem i've faced it keeping my cities from being rebellious because i dont have enough generals to sit in them and keep things in order.

The Maple Story game thinger Gem has been mentioning is really fun.  It's as fun as a chat program as it is a game.  Just.."wasted" 2 hours chatting up random female sprites for fun while Gem just rolled her eyes :)

Now there's something I never thought of Seth.  LOL, what a plan!

That'll learn them.  I chose Scipii too, so I got plenty of money.  I'll buy 'em all off.

indeed, the diplomat, assasins, and spies are the greatest weapons at your disposal and the more you use them the better they become at doing their jobs.

assasinate the general/leader then spy on (cool note, spies will open doors for your invading army so you dont have to seige) also you can sabotage cities with assasins which is just too cool...

diplomat's are good for setting up trade and bribing a generals army.

as for rebellious cities, they are a true pain in the butt i've found... best thing i've found to counter it is to retake the city after then booted you out but choose "exterminate" population. then there is no more rebellious swine to worry about.

Life is a dire game.

You're powerless until about level 4, and even then you've to follow pretty silly game rules till you hit level 18 or so. You have to shutdown every few hours to "rest" your character which means powerlevelling is out of the question.

Levelling itself is a bloody joke, you could do the same thing five times and get wildly different exp because of some minor detail you missed. And then there's the fact that levels and stats are unrelated to the point of being ridiculous. A level 16 thug can take out a roomful of level 30 players with a basic weapon. Which leads onto the respawn system. Paying lots of creds for medical care which usually doesn't work?? Or you spawn in and you're dead before you even pass level 1. GG blankets.

And not to mention wacky game bugs like getting PKed in a noviolence zone for no reason. The graphics are pretty fugly too.

ATM I'm playing the Galactic Conquest mod for BF42, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds, I've Black & White on the hard drive somewhere, and I'm playing with some new models for the Zombie Panic mod. Some conversions I'll put up after the public release....... because I'll need to SEE the models in order to know how to replace them..

But then again, once you meet the level requirement on certain stat boosting items at level 21, Life turns real fun real quick :p
