Whats your Favorite Video game (computer or consol) Intro?

Guidelines: Not really any, just explain why it's your favorite :)

For mine, I would have to say Starcraft: Broodwar's Intro

It's my favorite because of it's amazing and smooth graphics along with it's intense situation the movie takes place in. The animation is amazing and beautiful. I also love the dramatic opera music at the end.

After watching it for the first time, it pumped me up to play the game which is always a plus to a good intro. And the ending to the intro almost seemed to give me a tear because it was so dramatic and strong :)

well there's mine, now go on and post!

The Half-Life intro, of course :)
I love it when you're sitting there in that train, watching everything around you and listening to that woman.  <3

Battlefield 1942

omgwtfpwn music and I dunno, I just liked it.  Mustangs flying low over a city, paras dropping into Arnhem with flak everywhere, it was a cool intro.

Mechwarrior 1, 2, 2:Mercenaries, 3, 3:Pirates Moon, 4:Vengeance, 4:Mercenaries, 4:Black Knight

In other words, Mechwarrior has the coolest most badassery video game movies.

For example, the MW3 intro - a panoramic of a ruined battlefield... retreating forces crest the hill and light mechs get cut down by an unknown foe's PPC. Radio chatter is getting more frantic, and out of the smoke and haze come both a Thor and a MadCat. They get closer to the city and you see targetting perspectives from inside a Vulture hidden in a ruined building, scanning the targets. The Thor and the MadCat break group and head different ways... shortly after the Thor begins pulverizing the city, the MadCat gets a face full of Gladiator Pwn.

TBH I thought the Brood War one was a little too haphazardly put together. It was like 30 random-ass short cuts of battle thrown together, 3 minutes of actual plot, a marine using a gun that doesn't even exist in-game, and more random footage.

Actually something that really annoyed me about the SC movies was that they seemed to be made by people that never even played the actual game. According to the Starcraft movies, Marines aim as well as Stormtroopers and Zerglings are covered with 8 inches of steel plate. Seriously, if you can't even the continuity right in your MOVIES...

call me corny, but I'm gonna have to go with final fantasy 8-9. Both of these game had some of the best intro's ive seen. The FF8 intro is what got me into rpg's.

I definetly agree with you on the zergling deal, they seem like the only thing that kills them are damn explosives <_<. But, that was a gauss rifle, and the rocket launcher was aan attachment on the bottom of the Black guy's.

I actually seemed to notice, why did the Zerglings have Hydralisk heads and zergling bodies

but still, It's my favorite

The Battlezone(Not the arcade version) intro was cool.
It started out as a picture of the arcade version of Battlezone(green tanks and stuff), then it zooms out and you find that it was your minimap.  Then general explosions and stuff.

I like the Brood War intro. I also was surprised at the Dawn of War intro. Pretty good. I can't remember what version of MechWarrior I played, but it was pretty good, especially for being a little older. Warcraft III's was okay, although ones later in the game were better. I also liked the Tribes 2 intro quite a bit when I first saw it.
It's twice as clear as heaven and twice as loud as reason.

I really like the Warcraft 3 vids, especially the intro to the human campaign.

this is the .44 Wand, the most powerful wand in the world, so did I fire 5 or 6 fireballs? Now you got to ask yourself one question pal, do I feel lucky? Well do ya punk?

Actually they did release a video of the introduction to HL2 (contained about 2 minutes of the introduction), so I wouldnt be surprised if a few spent the time digging for it to find it.

It was awesome.

Its like HL's introduction, except without the monorail system (which was also cool). The reason why I like HL's introduction is because everything you saw in the intro movie you actually played through. Like the generator part, or the desert opening, it also included the opening for HL: Blue Shift where the guard is banging on the door. Also in HL: Opposing Force, you go through the shaft that the mono-rail passes. Pretty sweet.

I also like BW's intro. Yeah the zergling took about 180 rounds...and they had grenade launchers. But eh, cool nevertheless.

wacky wheels pwns all. The way the game works is you run over hedgehogs, and shoot them at your opponents to knock them off the track, then you drive your gocart by them, an try to get first.

the intro just follows one particularly gifted shot as he aims his way through the course, FOER TEH WIN!
