I would imagine its something like a rented apartment, and the lease has been renewed, but there's a week long gap before you can go back. Add that week to a 3 day shutdown/tidy, and a 3 day unpack/bootup, and you've got two weeks.


Just a guess tho. I know thats how it is sometimes for rented and/or student accomodation.

Necrosis is kinda close.  I actually wouldn't be going through this if I was staying in the same apartment.  But I'm moving to a new one, and there's a period in august between the time all the leases expire and the new leases begin - the apartment companies use it for cleaning and such.  It's a huge pain in the ass.

I feel your pain Hunzie, today is the last day of my 10-day internet outage because of an apartment move (me on phone to cable co: WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T INSTALL IT UNTIL THE 10TH!).  I'll see you all on the server tonight, you best watch out!
