At the start of the marine game, can people not rambo off straight off the bat, expecting people to comm, do you know why?

If you happen to have me and Sonic on your team, rather than having a comm bowing to your almighty need, you'll find two english guys taking turns and having a laugh. We've never won in our dual-comming, and we're unlikely ever to win. So unless you want two english guys splitting it, don't run off. :)

People who rambo off to the hive and camp for fun are annoying anyway. I'll usually not give them their coveted medspam/ammospam. I should just start giving shotguns to those people that stay and help build base.  :p

If I see one or more people rushing to the chair and a couple people just standing around in spawn, I'll rush off instantly.  However I just make it to a nearby RT and ask for it.   :p

It's always nice to know the commander cares about his base-monkeys, but because of my incredible aim, I usually feel he's wasting his res on me.  :D Base guard is my favorite job anyway. Only with a huge ranged and turf advantage do I ever get any kills, even on 3.0s skulks. :p

Commanding is like playing StarCraft, only the units curse at you when you lose.
Anything is a weapon if you swing it right.

i normally stay in base till a com has surfaced or i will jump in and well things just never work out well save for one time.  anyways i'm always happy to stay in base but i do have the same problem as path since i will die quite a lot while guarding base :( . if you happen to drop a shotty though i'll be able to hold my own.  so if any of you coms are ever looking for a base guard i'll be happy to fill that position unless i'm needed elsewhere.

I'd love to baseguard more, but only if I get to sit on the armory and kick people who want ammo.  :)

in that case esuna do the good ol proven seth tactic, relocate to whoever doesnt die in the next 2 minutes.

personaly i love when people rush off to get RT's and better yet by pass the ones outside of MS and go straight for the hives, makes it hella easy to get a early TFarm in some hive.
Through the mudd and the blood to the green fields beyond, for ours is not to question why our is but to do or die.

And when we die and die we shall to saint peter we shall tell, just another soldier reporting sir, I've served my time in hell.

At the beginning of the game, I almost always run off to a strategically important region of the map.

As do I, except what most commanders don't realize is that the pit of doom is an incredibly important location to control. I mean, if you don't block it with corpses, the aliens could jump in it and deny you kills!

I relocate about 25% of the time I get in the chair.  Its hard to do this when everyone runs off.  During the other 75% of the time, I usually prefer EVERYONE moving as one mass, with maybe 1 or 2 freelancers to get me res nodes.

People who comm know that its tiring being comm.

First off, you get no action, you just get to see it all from above.
Second, you have to be quick.  Are upgrades going? Sonic needs meds? Diablus ran off with the HMG again? Seige upgrading? ebnar-fade at 1:30?
Third, you have to actually order your little ants around, and quickly make the best decision.
Fourth and last, you have to notice when things are under attack, and predict when things are going to be in danger, and act accordingly.

You have all this happening all at once, its stressful, and its only fun to do it when you're winning.  No one likes to comm a lost game, but its still fun for the marine to kill things with alamo weaponry.

Some comms endure this stress up to 5 times straight.  There are only a handful of people that are able and willing to comm (the rest are more of the latter than of the former), and you know who they are.

So just once look at your team.  Rad4christ commed the last 3 games? You know the game well enough, why not give it a shot, and give the guy a rest.  Don't just run off hoping someone else will get in the chair and win it for you.

I have never acctually seen a whole team run off at game start.  If I do see it, I assure you I have no qualms about sticking around and base gaurding, but chances are I'll be the head of the pack anyways, so I won't see how many guys stick around behind.  Ussually the whole team camps until I have gotten enough res for weapons or layed a PG for them to zap too.
