Map voting has been in what...2 days? Every time a map pops up 1 player doesn't like, a map vote starts. We might as well rename the server The Lunixmonster! Eclipse 24/7!

I'm seriously getting sick of it, last night we had 3 map changes within 3 minutes from nancy -> eclipse -> nancy. I can't see who starts them, admin_cancelvote doesn't work on them and yeah..gg. Please, cut it out.

i too am getting sick of it, ESPECIALLY when it pops up during the game, and people are say changing from bite to parasite or parasite to bite, and oops u just voted to change the map, but u are owning it up, and having fun. it needs to be taken out, or changed somehow, to which only admins can do, and only when they ask a server, not just making it appear out of nowhere and map getting changed cause everyone is swittching from pistol to LMG. (btw, i was there when the nancy/eclipse/nancy, it was annoying, majority of vets/cons or whatever are the ones who do it, IE: kilgore)

I'll let ya in on a little secret wither: admin_abort_vote. I think that's what you're looking for. And yeah, to people who like to swap the map constantly: Don't. The mapcycle is there for a reason, and that reason isn't so you can switch the maps around with abandon. If everyone on the server really wants to play a certain map, that's fine. But switch at the very START of the round. Nothing like getting 30 minutes into a game and having the losing team start a vote to switch the map. That's poor poor sportsmanship and has NO place on this server.

So why don't you just make map votes like kick votes?  You know where its
ADMIN COMMAND:(someone) used command admin_vote_map (mapname)

Thanks for the info, I shall remove reserved slot holders right to vote til we all figure out when it's good to use it and when it's not.  <_<

This was the whole reason I made it RS only in the first place, really sad that it's being abused.  :help:

I can understand map votes being done during mid game, which can make me angry but i mean comeon? So what a RS'er maeks a map vote... if it wins then obviously the people IN the server WANT to play that map and don't want to play the map that thier currently on. I really don't see how its being abused when the players in the server want the map. Take mineshaft for example. Almost everyone is sick of that horrible map, sometimes ill do a vote for hera, origin,eclipse, viel, or tanith. It usually ends up winning. I think LB should put the voting back in, but fix the voting system to make the map win if 90% of the people want the map changed. Also disable voting for maps after 5 minutes in a game to prevent the mid-game voting. v_v

As far as I'm concerned, the RS members should be responsible enough to use this function in the way it's meant to - such is one of the many criteria for bcoming a RS member.

But as we all can see, such isn't really the case.  Does anybody else remember when having a reserve slot actually meant something about the holder...?

I know one problem with the voting is people are constantly switching weapons, and the vote becomes inaccurate. Would it be possible to edit the plugin to use slot5 and slot6? Doesn't solve the over-use problem, but would make it accurate.

I personally think eclipse is a horrible map, but on to the point
Votemap quickly becomes useless when you can see people's responses, because its almost impossible to see the message on all that white text.. I've had to use one of the other forms of say to forward the message.. maybe disable showing the individual choices?

LB, you need to either take it out of the rotation or Replace it with a better map.
PPL seem to be sick of that map and its a real bitch when everyone keeps voting a new map or bitching to the admins to change it.

I was there Withah when that happened and yeah, it was considerably an annoyance, thanks Bob for that little tool command; let's hope what happened doesnt occur again or so often.
