You would have to be AWFULLY young to have missed that one. I think we're aiming at older movies that people might not know about the awesomeness of. Although some of Tarantino's earlier work should be included: Reservoir Dogs is wicked awesome. The Usual Suspects is quite possibly the best movie ever. Way of the Gun, while a newer movie, didn't get a lot of publicity, and that's one that's worth seeing. Hmm... If I think of more I'll get back to you.

Some aren't that old, but oh well.

True Lies
Terminator 2
The Fugitive
Goldeneye (and other older Bond movies)
Indiana Jones (series)
Braveheart (war, but action)
Bladerunner (sci-fi, but still contains action)

And Die Hard is one of the best action movies ever ;).

Isamil, all the movies we mentioned are at least about five years old. Then other are from the '80s. That could be a reason too. :p

yes, we should make other lists for war and sci fi.

braveheart is sorta an epic war type movie, i love it, but i'm not sure if it fits into the action movie category i'm talking about.

if you are going to there, then it's be
braveheart
gangs of new york
gladiator
master and commander

for war, yeah, what seth said.

bob: yeah, just as i hit post, The Usual Suspects popped up in my head :S

so, these movies i listed are like.. you won't regret renting them :)

OH DEAR GOD!! i forgot
Red Dawn

Since we're adding on some relatively recent movies as well, I'll add Equilibrium, although I'm sure nearly everyone has seen that.

Also, there was one movie that the same friend as mentioned before, who is a major movie fanatic (like my obsession with music, but with movies for him), a movie he suggested and that I've seen many good reviews for is Memento. Something about it being very much a tribute to the old film nior movies and such.

Memento is hardly an action movie through Grimm.

Oh boy, I managed to finally watch through all that crappy acting the other day and it was one of the most entertaining movies I've ever seen.  Its like a 20/10 point movie, minus 10 points for the bad acting, making it about 10/10.  WHAT OTHER MOVIE SHOWS BRAINS GETTING SUCKED RIGHT OUT OF A GUY'S HEAD?!  POINT MADE!
