amen to that mrben

most of a game last night on caged we were in double and a lerk was gasing us and such and no meds to heal us as we were building things.  so if you were lucky enough to not get sprayed 8 times you could hump the armoury there and wish for a medpack but we all know how that sometimes turns out.  anyways to make a long story we could've rushed vent with a welder and a fully healed team of rines to take it down and end the game, but none of us got any meds nor did we receive a welder <_<
i was the lerk in the vent   >:D  >:D

Yes!  Medspam is god!  Like mrben said, don't just look for the med icons, watch your marines.

Random thoughts:

If a skulk is all over a light marine w/lmg biting him, don't drop meds.  Chances are he's out of ammo and will die within the next few bites anyway.  The meds would probably throw him off anyway.  Calmly wait for him to kill the skulk, THEN drop meds.  Just thought of this randomly, anyone agree?

(Totally Off Topic)
Lets say you have a phase gate up to the hive, you drop 5 shotties, and want them to run through and rush the hive.  Rather than just say "DON'T HUMP ARMORY PHASE!", drop a whole crap load of ammo packs around the armory and phase gate.  That way, the players that ignore your rushing plee's will get all the ammo they need and phase right away.  Plus, it'll be a pretty good hint to them that you're serious.

Following on from the point of watching marines. General experience with NS will teach that maps have danger zones in maps. An example would be cargo on ns_tanith, double on ns_veil, southloop and power sub junction on ns_eclipse etc etc. When you've got marines in these locations or just approaching them you should be watching them and be ready to med them.

Battles take only a few seconds and if the skulk wins that area is theirs for a while longer and often these points in the map lead to key map control. If you're watching and you med your marine the moment the first bite lands then you've got a better chance of taking it. In these danger areas you should walk your marines through them and priotise them over someone just building a random rt.

You'll find keeping your marines alive in these areas and watching them will make rounds go a lot faster and you won't be waiting till second hive and having to HA train. You'll be sieging first hive inside 5 minutes or whatever.

I like to Use Meds on ppl who don't spend more time in the Que than Playing.
If you see a marine getting killed everytime he rambos off, he not worth the 6-10 res you will drop on him in MEDS.
Having 2 or 3 IPs always makes things run alot faster at the start, when your marines are only 2 bites to kill.
The Armory, FREE AMMO, FREE MEDS, I tell my marines to USE it and SHUT UP!

All I need now are marine who can Aim and its perfect!  :p

Add on to Sancho's point: Yes, drop those ammopacks too if you want your marines to phase. I always give a comm the benefit of the doubt, ONCE. If he beacons and drops a bunch of shotguns and yells 'EVERYONE PHASE NOW!' I phase. If, on the other side of the PG, I then kill four skulks and help take down the hive, all while spamming 'need ammo' over and over, and never get ammo dropped, and then get killed by a happy gorge because I'm ALL out of ammo... wellllll. Next time this same comm beacons and yells 'PHASE!!' you can bet where I'm gonna be. Yeah. Humping that armory like a sweet sweet lover.

"Thy" and "Thee" and "Thou" and "Whilst" and all those other old-English terms should also not be used until everoyne learns how to use them right. I'm quite honestly sick and tired of seeing people in posts and in online journals and in all sorts of random places say stuff like "And I bought some ice cream whilst shopping at the mall...". Its just not cool, stop doing it!

YOu should have all grown up listening to the King James Version all the time, makes it easier to understand. It's weird growing up with people who think God only understands "thou", not "you".
