« on: March 18, 2004, 04:39:12 PM »
Spawncamping is bad.
if the marines manage to take out all of the aliens, and start killing things when they spawn, HOPEFULLY they'll be attacking that hive. if someone just runs down and starts killing things in the hive, more likley than not some a skulk will spawn and take him down when he's low on ammo. however, if marines are sitting in the hive for too long it would be delaying the game(simmilar to a hiding Marine or alien with DCs) and they should have some sort of punishment.
Aliens are a little worse to me. I've been in a few games where the onos goes in and takes out everything but the IP, letting the marines spawn and killing them over and over. Same thing: bad.

If you're in the enemy base, kill them. Don't sit and let their base live. v_v

AND NO ITS NOT BECAUSE I AM AN ELITIST VET ASSHOLE ^_^
New word for the day, thnks Zer :-P.

I always have a pretty good time doing NS, normaly within the top 3, once in a while dropping down a bit to the more moderate places (OMG LM REG HAX  :p ). More often than not i find myself doing very well kill wise, but not keeping up to others' scores on marines.
Every once in a while you're playing a game and wonder why you're always the first one to die in any situation. You're in the middle of a group of marines and you just happen to be the first one picked off by a random skulk.
Than there are other games where you feel like you can't be killed, you go rambo down to the hive and take it down yourself.  B)

The advantage of living alone. When I was living in Denmark, on my own, I'd just mutter a curse at the screen half-aloud when I got mad. Worked like a charm, and nobody felt insulted.
I know when i get mad at the game i stand up, curse like crazy and scream till my lungs hurt. Sometimes my family thinks i have turrets because one second i'll be siting playing on my computer quietly and the next i'll be yelling and screaming like crazy. I'm not mean enough to go and post comments to other players about how nubly they are and about how much BS things are (OMG turret farm HAX).

In general though, i don't get mad at other players. the only times i get pissed are when,
1: i'm about to rush them with an onos and i get either killed as an egg or get dissconnected from the server
2:I'm kicked from a full server as a comm
                    or
3:I freeze up at a critical point of the game and the server is full before i can get back (</3 steam)

hiiiiiiissssss
Natural light!!!!!!
IT BURNS!!!!!

Anyway... Lito IS right about one thing...
Some things we are taught and some things are genetic. For example... I Grew up in the desert (Viva Las Vegas BABY!!!), so i like the heat. I naturally adjusted to my habitat. Now I moved to a colder place, where the winters are generally below freezing. I can't stand the cold because I grew up somewhere hot.

Now... on the other hand... I love snow. Having never really experienced snow, I was extremely excited to see it snowing where I live. This could be a mixture of two things; one being that it's something new to me, so it's exciting. The other, probably better reason I like the snow so much is because around the holidays I always was pressured with the idea of kids having fun in the snow and how great snow must be. People who've lived with lots of snow start to think that it's no big deal... a normal part of winter life.

Fun stuff.

i can't get past lvl 30, oh well :-P Great game though

Based off of the "Warthog Toss" in Halo.

In the game Halo for the XBox, the phisics for grenade explosions are realy screwed up. You can through grenades under Warthogs and make um fly into the air and flip, if in the right spot, you can get um to fly across the map. Lots of fun if you haven't tried it, best with 4 people.

« on: February 29, 2004, 03:51:18 PM »
I have warcraft 3 and starcraft, but i think i prefer starcraft more... The Heros in warcraft make things too complecated, while building the base you need to be sure to make a mini-army so you can upgrade your hero, leaving your base close to helpless from a rush attack. However, if you're too slow, and your hero sux, than you're gona have problems in the long run. And of course, if he dies that's an extra couple hundred gold to ressurect him.

I like um both, but i don't like the idea of mixing an RTS and an RPG game while trying to out manuver the enemy at the same time. WAY too confusing.  :p

The truth is... Celsius is probably easier to understand and figure out. But us Americans are so used to Fahrenheit that it would be kind of difficult to change now. That... and we're too stubborn to change.

And no, 0 and 100 degrees don't mean anything in Fahrenheit, but what difference does it make as long as I know what the boiling and freezing temp. is?

I scan my computer all the time, and defrag too (when I have enough mem). As for school computers... it's surprising how many computer-illiterate people there are these days, especially knowing that everyone in high school has been using computers from at least middle school on. You would think that they would know by now that you shouldn't download trash. Don't DL things unless you know where they're from.

My dad's computer is a great example. My sister will go online (using aim, chat rooms, or whatever else "popular people" do on the internet) and, without thinking, download every spy ware and POS toolbar that she can find. It's as easy as pressing OK every time. Than she asks me to figure out how to keep the computer running. I've given it up!!

Thanks to you, the techy, for putting up with all the stupid people of the world and fixing their problems, because "heaven forbid" they should have to figure anything out for themselves!!!

*whew* :p

Off Topic / Explain Your Name
« on: February 13, 2004, 12:34:10 PM »
Back in the days before internet i used to call myself "HotShot". Back when all my brother and i would do is play our little crappy dos and windoes 3.1 computers ofer the lan; mostly C&c, duke nukeum, Mech Warrior, and Doom (Those were the days). Soon after I discovered internet chatrooms at my friend's house. Of course HotShot was taken. So i sat and that about what kind of cool name i could use. It had to be something completely origional, while still similar to my old name. So, after much stairing mindlessly at the computer, i came up with a very simple name. i was thinking at the time: "You shoot, it goes BANG".
