For scouting ( i used to be the master at taking out a team of 8-10 kids agasint me with it and my usp/deagle)

if you use the standard 1,2,3 for weapons always have your pointer and pinky near or on the 1 and 3 buttons, fire a shot then quickly swithch to knife and move behind somethnig, quickly switch back and repeat. If your new to it i dont suggest aiming before the head, you have to somehwhat predict where the player is moving

and NEVEr, EVER, EVER DUCK or sit in 1 spot with the scout, it is meant to be quick, whorish, and cheap, when you shoot/switch to knife and hide sometimes they cant see what hit them. increase your sensitivity to about 8-11 for less mouse movment. Im going to get bac into CS sometime, ill gladly teach you to master t3h sc0ut!! :)

(PS. Dont Switch to knife TOO quickly, otherwise the shot doesnt register ;) , just a quick and useful tip)

I find that low sensitivity helps if you're going for all headshots. I have mine set to 1.35

You must be insane. my sensitivity is at 12-13 all the time.

Well sens is all mouse dependant too, like this mouse here I like the sens to be at about 18, but with my optical I am more comfortable at 16. Different mouses different sensitivities!

tips for aiming?

olo just use h5x!

actually on a more on topic note, I would have to agree with the people who use the lower sensitivitys simply becuase I watched a friend of mine who is insane at CS who has an obscenely low sensitivity and it went something like this:

me: dude your sensitivity is "hella" low
him: it's like that for a reason, it's easier to get headshots, see that head right there?
me: [staring at screen] uhh no
him: *shoots ak* *gets headshot* [the map was dust2, the person was at least 100 feet away down the long corridor, there was only a frickin pixel of head showing but he still saw him and shot him from days away]
MAC DRE: Cold Crest Creeper, a rapper that would dip-n-yoke quicker than he could pimp-n-smoke, flows  that hit your ears harder than Ike hit Tina. Forced to serve a Nickle but would never drop a Dime.

Bleh, you all are crazy. I go more towards Radeon's sensitivity. I always use 8 for all HL mods, it's just what I'm used to. Way back when, I used 14, but then I (painfully) switched to 8 under a recomendation from a friend. I think it's *much* better.

i agree with your sensitivity sati. i used to be at 8 ro 9 all the time. That is, before i started using steam. when i started with steam everything seemed to respond less.

Sweet Jesus! i cant believe how low that is.  you must have to swipe the mouse 5 times across the desk to get a 90 deg. rotation. Sens. 5 annoys me 1.055 is just ludacris.

Hafaf, yeah if I lowered my mouse I would have a heart attack because I wouldnt be able to look around one corner then the other without my mouse flying out the window, and I get headshots better with a higher sens, because otherwise its all "OLO MOVE MOUSE 6 TIMES TO AIM FOR HEAD CRAP HE MOVED MOVE IT 4 MORE TIMES BLARGLE!". Maybe if I had a bigger area for my mouse...

I've been to a few official CS tournaments (never participated) and the best players usually had a 2ft by 2ft mousepad and super low sensitivity.  They practically had to move from left to right 3x to turn around....but apparantly if you're serious thats the way to go

in games where I'm gonna aim a lot I do crank the sensitivity waaaaay down admittedly... helps you keep your shots precise =3

As for the guy who walked off with practically full health that was probably rudeboy XD
He was someone in our university deemed with impossible bullet luck, eventually we started calling the phenomenom 'rudeboy armour'

once back in beta 5.0 when i was checking out what they'd changed in the weapons, I went full auto at someone with the commando and watched in horror as the bullets drew a perfect symetrical circle around him on the wall o.O

edit: to get across how bad rudeboy was for this, 5 terrorists emptied 2-3 clips each at him at the same time while he was crouched against a wall.  It should've been a been a firing squad moment; the Ts had come from the side unexpectadly so he had no cover... nothing... but he killed all 5 and walked off leaving a perfect outline in the giant shadow of bulletdecals and still had full health... and no he doesn't cheat, I was sat next to him messing about on a chair so I saw it happen XD

they're university machines... I was there when he sat down at it and booted up CS without mucking about.  In our uni nobody really had their 'own' PC so you could never guarantee which PC you'd be on nor who got a shot of the one you used next.  Trust me, rude didn't cheat; he's even played on our PCs in our flat lan and pulled it off =P
