Hl2: Anyone Know?
anyone know if they improved the voice quality(someone in MP talking over voice com).

I havn't heard anything about this, if it sounds like HL1 then GG.

Kinda sad games like BF or Halo dont have voice...

Actually, the Half Life 1 voice comm sounds quite nice. The bad ones are people with crappy mics, soundcards and lots of background noises.

Thats very good news.

I have a santa cruz sound card(and audio 90 plantronics headset) but not willing to use it because of the bad quality.

Hopefully HL2 will be released April 30...yeah...

Don't think so, Computer & Video Games have actually played it and they'll release info at 29'th April :)

hmm and all this time I thought HL2 was 1 giant early april fools joke.

Meh, I'm not too excited about its release, although I do get a free copy of it because I bought a Radeon 9600XT.  Guess I should go check out the terms of the coupon <_<

Actually, they have already taken the time to increase voice quality via a codec change for HL1 when it switched to steam. As such, anyone using the Speex voice codec on their server will have increased voice quality with less bandwidth used by voice comm(!)

Unfortunatly Speex isn't standard for HL1.. =(
Hopefully it will be for HL2  :D
