Offical Spray Request Thread

Theres a lot of rules you gotta follow to make a spray for HL.

At the moment, I can't seem to get any sprays working on Steam, so I've given up for now until I can find out whats wrong.

anyone feeling like making me a spray?  Just use my sig and resize it or modify it however you wish.  I'm feeling lazy.

I need another copy of my spray (Mine went AWOL) and I can't seem to download it from the attached file.

I found it on the ns.org forums. But good luck finding it again with the broken search function. It was in a 'funny screenshots' thread, that linked me to another thread.

The sensory chamber one is funny. Saw it awhile back and cracked up. It is also useful if you actually use it.

Do wad files go in ns or nsp? I tried both and spray still doesn't work and tried to go to other servers and still doesn't.

It's a bit confusing - apparently for steam decals to work, they need to be named "tempdecal.wad" and must be below 12 kb in size.   :blink:

As I remember, you have to copy it to the game's folder, name it pldecal.wad, then copy it again and name it tempdecal.wad. The make them read only so steam doesn't change them back next time you go into your options. Also in one of the subfolders is a remapped.bmp which is your current spray. I deleted that while trying to get it to work, and I'm not sure if that helped or not. I think it's really just the pic it shows you when you look in your settings, so probably just the pldecal and the tempdecal are all you need to worry about.

could you make me a spray that is just two rows of open jaws, so when i  get a kill, I can spray this on their head, adn it will look like the floor has teeth and is eating them?

the teeth won't be sprayed on the player, but will show up on the floor behind him

Important recent discovery reguarding sprays in Steam games: The file has to be named temdecal.wad in order to appear as your spray in game.

I hadn't known this until just tonite, and it greatly helps fight my confusion with pldecal.wad files.

If you'd like a spray image for a game and you already have an image, either get the image to me or go to Wolverine's Spray Site to learn how to do it yourself.

Edit: And don't forget to make sure the tempdecal.wad is read only too.

Now get those nifty sprays out! I probably need to change mine, as hidden sens is becoming sort of popular now. It'll be sprayed everywhere!

use hlcsm or wally to compile, copy to hl/mod/ folder
copy and rename tempdecal.wad and make both readonly
find server with sv_allowupload 1 and sv_allowdownload 1 make sure cl_allowupload, al_allowdownload and cl_downloadingame (i *think* those are right, can someone check?) are all 1 on your computer

won had a neat little red bar that would tell you when it was safe to spay, it can take several mins before the spray works, keep trying
