First off, please no Maple story, shattered galaxy, guild wars, dark ages, urban dead

Need a game that i can get into with my friends. Preferably free, but buying a game doesn't sound too bad either. Monthly fees are a definite no-no.

The no-monthly-fees thing is a definite limiter.

I've been playing CoH with my roomates. Having a healer that actually heals, a controller that actually controlls on your team 5 feet from you rocks sooo much.

Alternatively, there's RO. I never really cared for it much, but it was something to do for a while.

heh, I used to play Runescape like 4-5 years ago when it was 2d/low 3d, but they have a full pledged 3d version now

I know there are alot of foreign korean/japanese mmorpgs which are free forever/free beta but i haven't bothered to try them all.

try Navyfield, its a Naval Battle WW2 game. Build up your ship, customize it, gain exp and $$$ for bigger and better guns / crewmen, stats, get bigger ships, choose a country tech tree, etc.

I used to play it but I stopped because "manual cotnrol" is way too much of a pain in the ass, and if you go auto when you get into carriers, cruisers, battleships, etc you lose horribly

you could try anarchy online.. you can still get the basic game for free.. and its pretty fun for a while.. though i dont really play it anymore...

I recently downloaded that game Knights online, im actually finding it pretty fun. Reminds me of WOW graphic wise, im stil ltrying to figure out what the games all about though since its supposed to be orc humans vs humans or something. Yet in the beginning both races are allied together in 1 castle :blink:

but fun nontheless

Try the Kingdom of Loathing if you wanna smirk while you play.

It's a browser based game. You get 40 turns a day to mob about the kingdom doing/killing/finding stuff. Pixelated stick figure art, good player base, and humerous undertones. Lots of inside jokes only RPG gamers would get.

Sadly, there's no direct player interaction in the game world. You can buy from and trade with other players, raid their camps, join a clan and wage war, but you won't ever see another player. But, it's fun and free.
