well, as most of you know, i get some rather large ping spikes when im in game. The other day, my friend came over and we had a few others over too and threw a LAN party, and wouldn't ya know it,i dont own a router. My friend on the other hand, does, and as soon as my internet got plugged into that lil beauty i never saw ONE lag spike while on steam, or GW, which means im out today to get a router, so monkey can get his commanding skills back and play without lag, FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

had a friend experience this as well.  Got a nice router and pluged his cable modem into that, then from the router to computer and everything was silky smooth after that.

I get problems with my router; while straight to modem from computer works like a charm.
