Okay, Ive finally had enough of this. It seems that most of the time that I die as a higher lifeform its because of some stuck keys setting that I cant find. I end up going up, down, left, or right into a wall and unable to get off of it while marines shoot me in the back.

Ive got Xp, its a presario laptop with all the original HP extras still on because I never bothered to reformat. Ive messed with the accessability options and the keyboard settings endlessly and I cant make it go away. My friend has virtually the same computer but he reformated when he got it and he doesnt have the problem.

I also dont have the problem with other games but most other games dont have me holding keys as long. I think it may have happened a few times in Doom 3 as well.

Any ideas? Pls help :(

Are you using Ventrilo while playing? Not necessarily using, just having it open. That is a problem for me - until you change the sound input method, that fixes it for me.
If you're not using Vent... then I have no idea, sorry.

i get this some times on my wireless keyboard becasue teh signal showing that the key has been unpressed  is lost.

the solution is to push the key again. thus teh message is sent correctly , you hope.

this my not be applicable to a laptop but it works well on the wireless.

I have disabled sticky keys, didnt help.

And yes, sometimes I can just press that key a few times and get it to stop but when you are a fade attacking upgraded marines, youve already lost your momentum and youre almost dead.

Im thinking Im just going to reformat the thing while Im gone in Utah for the Army and hope that fixes it.

Thanks though guys.

My guess is that it probably happens when you press more keys at one time than your motherboard allows. Your computer uses the last input until it senses something new. Test this out... Press 5-6 keys at one time, in some order, in notepad and see if it ramps when you let go. If it does I'm right, if not, oh well.

Ziggot did you try fading with another keyboard and see what happens, if you haven't yet.
