I didn't have time to check the General or Off-Topic forums in my frenzy to tell you guys, and I thought that here'd be the best place to post it...

The NS Forums are back up! Ooh yay! Even if they're being a bit buggy I managed to get the namechange I wanted before wierd error messages. I'll have to contain my excitement until I can let it lose on the forums themselves, this is but a burst sprocket spewing out my crazed state of lunacy in comparison to what'll happen when I'm let lose on the NS Forums again! Ooh baybee!

I wonder why they aren't using mySQL or PostgreSQL backend. From what I can gather, SQLServer is a bit.... flakey.

Quoted twice for truth.
I was like "Yes, NS site is back up!" but when I got to the forums, I was like "Oh no, not all these dumb people again".
And I went back to LM.

Well I'm afraid as a mapper this community doesn't quite do it for me. 1 community map that seems dead, and Confusion's map that looks pretty good, but is nearing completion. Yesterday reminded me about the best bits of the mapping community, with ns_source, ns_hulk and ns_shiva all having released new betas. Also I like the "Creation" Forum to get some background knowledge about Modelling before I have a crack at it myself.

No, LM doesn't have much of a mapping community to speak of. No surprise there. We have a little, but we cannot compete with uwe.com.

I was simply stating why I do like the Official NS Forums, nm. Anyway the site's being super-unreliable for me right now: most of the time not working, occasionally giving me strange SQRL messages and not working for 15 minuts or so. Not to worry, I got enough of it to make the backs of my eyes hurt so I'm happy for today.

clashen that isn't so bad, what's kinda sad is that some modellers seem to have gotten used to such praise and doesn't tolerate criticism AT. ALL.

this is the .44 Wand, the most powerful wand in the world, so did I fire 5 or 6 fireballs? Now you got to ask yourself one question pal, do I feel lucky? Well do ya punk?
