i've got myself a lvl 21 NE rogue on Ner'Zhul. I'll get yous all a pic when i get home maybe.

I freaking love this game.. I just did the VanCleef quest the other day and i must say that so far, that has been the coolest experience in any MMO i've played. The battle with the tauren named Mr. Smite was the highlight of the whole quest. I'd have never expected a little scripted sequence during the fight. I thought he would fight nonstop until he died like the other guys.

When we fought this guy, he was using a little sword against us and we were doing pretty good against him. Once we got him down to half health he stomped the ground, stunning us all, then said (in text and audio) something along the lines of "you guys are better than you look. I'll have to improvise". then he ran over to a chest and pulled out two huge axes and charged back into battle. Once we got him down to 25% health he stunned us again and ran back to the chest, and pulled out a huge warhammer and atacked us again. When he died i looted that warhammer from him corspe and i keep it in the bank as a trophy.

...also i am a chest whore. something about playing a rouge makes me greedy...

yea, the deadmines instance is awesome. the ragefire chasm and wailing caverns can't really compare, but WC is pretty nice as far as exp and items go, but its really a one time around thing(you have to do the entire cave and every boss, go back to start, escort a guy, then do a few fights before the final boss comes, who drops some really insane stuff.)

we got this staff i'll have to get the stats to, but it was like 21 dps with about 5 nature res and like 7 int with some other stat, and some nice blue ring with spirit/int.

i'll get the stats later, if the server i play on stops crapping out.

edit #1;

wanted to tell everyone of this thottbot, 'tis a great resource for all things WoW.

nice. :> I think you dirty alliance mofos have the more well-scripted quests, and more quests in general... I'm not really complaining though.  GLORY TO THE HORDE!

I think I'm going to give up my hunter.  I love the concept of having pets and all that, but at lvl 23, I went forward and looked at what spells/skills I have to look forward to... and from 23-60, there's pretty much NO new interesting skills for hunter... and I couldn't bear to think of playing the rest of the game with the same exact fighting pattern as lvl 23 =/

I'm gonna go back to my original plan of warlock...

DZ, if you want to play a class that isn't "finished" at lvl 20, try a Shaman.  I played one in OB up to lvl 28, and there were plenty of spells and abilities still to go.  That said, they have a lot of ways to control other players in a pvp fight (lots of slows, and they can be faster) so don't be surprised if they get a slight nerf.
"That's a rather tender subject.  Another slice anyone?"

yeah, I considered a shaman, I know their reputation for being kinda uber, but I tried it til about lvl 10 and it just wasn't clicking with me.  maybe I shouldn't be so hasty...

but I played a warlock to 19 and it was still appealing to me... yeah, the eventually get mainly upgrades, but I still had the summons to look forward to, a few fire spells, creating a few more stones, etc... and I just found it the most fun so far...

I used to play Hunter and now I'm on Shaman, and combat certainly is a lot less repetitive by comparison.

I'm greatly enjoying the diversity in gameplay the Warlock presents with the different pets. I can use my voidwalker to tank while I deal most of the damage through curses, ailments, and direct blasts, so I'll use him against tougher enemies (such as unique creeps). However, I do end up using a bit of mana each fight with the Voidwalker, which is why the Succubus is nice for cutting through enemies; She deals a nice amount of damage while I tank a creep, and there's pretty much no downtime for quite a few fights. In a big group with enough tanks and good damage dealers, the Imp provides some nice buffs and has a solid fireball attack. I've yet to get to 30, but I hear the Felhound is good against casters, eating up their mana and whatnot.

Ragefire is an extremely annoying instance, I just really don't like how it's set up. Wailing Caverns is great for drops, although I agree that the Deadmines are awesome. Anyone playing a rogue should try to stealth walk from the entrance to the Goblin forge area sometime; I had to do that twice in Open Beta after almost everyone died, and we needed a third person to get to the Warlock to summon everyone else there. Quite the experience.

grimm, i know exactly what you mean. I was the only survivor when we were at the boat and we had lost a player, so we had to go find another pally to join us. everyone ressed at the spirit healer, but i stealthed it all teh way back out.
sneaking around as a rogue is surprisingly entertaining for an activity that has no rewards other than bragging rights and pickpocketing everything you pass.

Fatty won't stop hitting on Hukkresh, my Succubus. I'll have to teach her how to castrate people who get out of line.

btw anyone else use Cosmos UI tweak?  highly recommended :> coolest features are a quest tracker that displays active quest objectives, additional toolbars, a DPS tracker (including DPS for each of your spells, pet, etc), auto-tell group when you need healing, etc etc etc.

it's also very modular, and I plan on adding a couple features tonight - such as a bag autosort mechanism, and a macro to use my warlock's healthstones without having to re-drag it to the toolbar every time I use one...

plugging aside, my warlock just started her own guild on Gorefiend, "The Lost Cause"... it's not a NS/LM guild, but at least it's a guild. :>

I've already made it very, very clear to Nooblet (who's very persistent about it) that I'm not going for an NS themed guild on Sargeras. Partially because we don't have many 'NS people' on the server, but mostly because it gets old after a while (Couple NS clans for Kingdom of Loathing, NS guild for City of Heroes), and I just don't want it to relate to something I don't enjoy anymore.

well it'd be decidedly stupid to make a guild NS themed if there were more than just NS people in it... that said, if we DID happen to all be on one server, which we're not, I think it'd be amusing to be in a clan with ranks called Cormandor, Onos, Lork, etc, with a TSA-green tabard...
