From the World of Warcraft site:
When choosing your server for the first time, the server wizard will suggest a server with low load to improve your game-play experience. However, if you decide to pick your own server to play on, we suggest picking a server where the population is not high during peak hours (peak hours are 6pm through midnight in your local time zone). This will help you avoid server queues.
So far I haven't seen a single queue on any of the servers added post-launch, and seen decent queues on the PVP servers listed pre-launch. If you don't have a bunch of folks you know already on these servers and you aren't starting first day, there's really no reason to go to the pre-launch servers (not even mentioning the fact that you'd be competing with the power PVP guilds).
However, I think I'm alone on this one and I'm through arguing, so when I get back from Thanksgiving I'll just hop on whichever server you all are playing on and start my character over.
BTW, post your character's names when you create them so we can add them to the in-game list. Shaman, btw.
EDIT: Didn't see Nooblet's last when writing that. I will be Orc Shaman with Skinning/Leatherworking, my friend will be another warrior race unknown (he was going to go human). I'll post my name once I'm sure the one I'm planning on isn't taken. I like the idea of NS-related guild name - Frontiersmen or Constellation both sound good.
