Eh, there are mods with SP missions as well as skirmish modes on the "Allies vs Soviets"  C&C universe. Seems Uranium isnt the only one with the problem with C&C general's plot

I always liked the much forgotten and hated Command and Conquer: Sole Survivor.  An online deathmatch version of C&C using Tiberian Dawn units.

Also, Red Alert featured one of the coolest intros ever. Mammoth Tank smashing through concrete wall? Just hook an IV with pure adrenaline up to my arm, please.

I remember worldwide warfare. Red Alert: Counterstrike wouldn't install.

Lunixmonster looks a lot like Linuxmonster. Really.

Indeed Red Alert had amazing video clips. The best for its time out of most RTS games. I love that one mid one where you see a helecopter fly over a huge base and soldiers running across in distress with the siren going off, and you see the giant telsa coil overhead in the backround

I think this is probably my favorite opening to any C&C game.  As soon as the tank busts through the wall the song "Hell March" really kicks into gear.

Actually now that I think about it, the Command and Conquer series has had some of the best music I've ever heard in an RTS.  All C&C soundtracks up to Renegades were composed by Frank Klepacki.  It's sad that he wasn't able to work with Generals, maybe he could have given it a bit of that old C&C magic.

Mechanical Man > all

Right, the soundtrack. I was trying to remember the name of that song. Mechanical Man it is. Damn, wish I had it.

It was called "Target" on the later released CD but it had already gained the title "Mechanical Man" from the community.   Cmon, what else do you call a song with only the lyrics being "I'm a mechanical. I'm a mechanical. I'm a mechanical man."

You can find the first C&C soundtrack (including Mechanical Man) here.

The opening song to Red Alert called "Hell March" can be found here.

Enjoy.

Ah, thankies. Would have preferred the C&C RA intro with the movie, though. Cool.

When I think about it... CnC:RA had by far the best Infantry shoot outs ever...

I mean think about it, sure they were "blocks" but those "blocks" would go prone, crawl, kneel, crouch, and of course stand. Whenever a tank/ Rocket soldier/ grenadier would attack the riflemen they would go prone and start crawling away. (and even sometimes under the wheels of death  ) but give the AI a break :p

Now in games like Generals they just stand there shooting at eachother, not moving if a viecle is going to ram their sorry arses

On that note... im going to play some RA right now!
