Well, it won't let me log into my Steam account. I always get this error:

I do not like it. I want to fix it. :help:

Reboot maybe? That's the tech support answer to everything.

More infoes, what have you already tryed? You have tonnes of options to expend before you can blame it on valve's side. Reboot, check for valve updates, check roughter ports, reinstall steam, see if steam can send you your password, check for causes of that specific error message on the steam forums (not in that order though, you probably want to reintall steam last as it is a fair bit of hassle to do it properly)

Ok, I rebooted. I tried the recover my password ^^. It could find my account, but it wouldn't let me change the password or anything (I'll upload a picture of that error too if you need it). I even uninstalled Steam, updated it and tried to log in again. It still won't work. If reinstalling doesn't work, what will? The only thing that is different is that I'm somewhere else and on broadband right now. Even that isn't an excuse since my friend can still log into his account.

Is your account back at your original residence still logged on?

No, I brought my computer with me. I have no clue, but it seems like I am completely screwed.

UPDATE: It seems that other people on the Steam forums are having this problem too. I'm glad it's not just me. Also, it seems to only affect people who have older accounts (like back in early 2003). Some people can log in now and some can't (I'm the latter one). Work Steam!
