i start my sr year of hs on wednesday, as much as i hate school i have a couple classes that make me not want to nuke the place

also, as i am now a member of the working class, i get money and money gets me stuff like games and the occasional dvd or book or two or three of five hundred

i'll try to keep magebot and my ftp server up as much as possible so you don't miss me too much :p (anyone know of a web-based telnet thingamadoodle i could use to control magebot from school?)

ummm ... i'll try to  as much irc/ns as possible while not almost failing several classes on account of turning in fewer homework assignments than fingers on my left hand

oh, last year i submitted several papers to the systems administrators regarding their lax security policies, they have had at least five months to plug their holes via simple registry and group policy changes that i all but did for them >:D

edit: the time is 1:50 am, excuse all typos/unintelligible blabber

Not the dreaded school. Oh noes! Good luck to you. I don't have to go back until the 26th, so I have a little bit of time. :D

I was tempted to document all the security holes in my schools network, but then they yelled at me for pluggin my comp into their network, and I went :D that, I'll have to grab a copy of the admin's password file and crack it, patch everything myself.  Speaking of which, I need to recreate my restriction breaking CD

I start my junior year sometime at the end of August

Well, I just created a very special vbs for them :)
Heres the output from it :)
Quote
(C:\Documents and Settings\devicenull\Desktop) cscript //nologo KillRest.vbs
---------------Removing Restrictions---------------
        Deleteing HOSTS file
        Adding localhost to HOSTS file
Attempting to reenable registry access (HKCU)
Attempting to reenable right click (HKCU)
Attempting to reenable right click (HKLM)
Attempting to activate control panel (HKCU)
Attempting to activate control panel (HKLM)
Attempting to activate network control panel (HKCU)
Attempting to activate network control panel (HKLM)
Attempting to disable policy updates (HKLM)
Attempting to reenable change password (HKCU)
Attempting to reenable change password (HKLM)
Attempting to enable lock workstation (HKCU)
Attempting to enable lock workstation (HKLM)
Attempting to enable entire network icon (HKCU)
Attempting to enable entire network icon (HKLM)

Attempting to enable display of workgroups (HKLM)
Attempting to enable Run on the start menu (HKCU)
Attempting to enable Run on the start menu (HKLM)
---------------Fixing Security Problems---------------
Attempting to disable administrative shares (HKLM)
Attempting to disable messenger service (HKLM)
Complete!
To further remove restrictions, switch to a different shell and file manager

I use a nice little security hole, where for some reason the vbs is being run with better access then me, don't know how, dont know why.. but it works :)
I'll probably grab a copy of their policy files too, maybe password files too

don't need that on our net, our wonderful admins forgot to disallow those (i havn't checked student access to HOSTS file though, but i doubt it's locked down too tight :p)

Well, once I get reigstry access, its all over  >:D
They are some of the stupidest admins I've ever seen.. heh
Maybe we got em mad sending net send messages through two schools.. (our middle school and high school are on the same network)  I'm so tempted to bring in knoppix, and screw around with files :).. sadly, ntfs support seems very limited under linux

I just have to figure out how to bypass their proxy server, which isnt set up in IE, but it intercepts http traffic
I may just set up an ssl tunnel between the comp there and my comp here, use that as a proxy
