i enjoy playing the game. The only problem i have with other players is just when they come into a room and start using their fists to try to kill you. All they're doing is pushing you around and not doing any damage. I got so annoyed one time because this guy kept knocking me into a corner when i tried to get out of the room, so i killed us both with a grenade. That's when I found out he was my hunter...

I really like this mod, but the two problems I see often are the quarry changing, and innocent killing arsehats, as mentioned.

Yes, I was running a server and had that exact problem, people killing randomly...only a...what...$3000 fine?  So even though there's 4 players in the negatives, I can't tell who got there by killing innocents, since there were others like me that had just gotten arrested and fined $230849023859 for having a rocket launcher.

I also think we'll see more reward for stalking properly once they fix the "quarry changed" BS.  Right now the only people that actually kill are the ones running around like mad, and then punching their quarry into a secluded room when they stumble across them.  Meanwhile, I've made myself look exactly like one of the NPC's, and am carefully watching my quarry from the corner of my eye when he switches.

if htey did like Ura wants, and got rid of the radar, and made it so you have the same quarry till YOU kill them, or THEY kill you, It would be much better

No, I just want radar to be non-functional in areas you "shouldn't" be. Lounge, restaurant, bank, sure. Vents and cabins, no. It would make tracking your quarry a bit easier since they'd have to observe you following them instead of just looking at the radar.

Actually, every punch does a small amount of damage. It is possible to kill someone by punching them, although it takes a lot longer than any of the actual weapons. The upside is you don't go to jail for being seen with your fists out, or even for killing someone with your fists, and as long as you can trap them in a corner, they're pretty much done for.

We've considered the idea of a Lunixmonster Ship server, but after playing it a bit it seems almost unanimous that the game isn't entertaining for too long. It isn't much of a "spy" mod since you don't actually spy on anyone; You just run around hitting "use" on everyone 'til you find your quarry, run into a corner or hallway where the camera or any people aren't looking and shoot at them. I swear, sometimes it feels like an exploit, like sitting right next to the security door where the camera can't see you (which makes no sense at all) to shoot someone down the hall.

New patch released.

    * The game now functions properly using Valve's Steam system.
    * With the shutdown of WON all servers will now run on Steam.
    * Includes two new maps - Aurora and Argo.
    * Many issues with the old maps fixed - Daedalus and HMS Redrum.
    * Quarry assignment system has been altered to prevent constant quarry changes.
    * Many exploits have been fixed, for example it is no longer possible to avoid jail  time or cash penalties by quitting the game and rejoining.

I'll  have to try it out and see if it really is any better. One thing that doesn't seem to be fixed, based on the changelog information, is that players in jail can just /kill to get out. Also, there was an exploit which involved taking a bunch of money out of the bank, running to some out-of-the-way corner, /kill-ing, then leaving the server to rejoin and grab the money to win.

I don't think he's complaining that HE'S abusing it, I think it's the other people's abuse that's bothering him.  ;)

Actually, I did it once to see if it worked (which it does), although I've never seen anybody else do it. Probably because I didn't play it for more than a week. I would hope it didn't become much of a problem, because once everyone found out about it the game would be a race to withdraw some cash and use the exploit.

grrrrr, i give up on this game, even after the patch it still takes a decade to find my guy, then while i think up an ingenious way to kill them so i get tons of money and im right behind them with an umbrella in the bathroom i get NEW QUARRY OBTAINED!!!!!  this is the one major turnoff for me, maybe if they were easier to find...

Yea, even with the reduced "New Quarry" thing, it still changes too often, and it always seems I always end up suddenly being caught with a weapon and sent to the brig, even when nobody was nearby a moment before. The game requires a lot of patience, and my patience wears thin when there are still loads of jackasses who kill innocently; One guy mowed down four of us before finding his target, and that's a major pain in the ass.
