This is from HalfLifeSource.com

According to recent conversations we've had with Valve's Doug Lombardi, Half-Life 2 will be passed on to publisher Vivendi for final mastering and duplication within days for it's early August target. The official appearance will make store shelves sometime in mid to late September.

In addition, we will be going to Valve to play test Half-Life 2 very soon. We will be broadcasting from Half-Life Radio and will provide screenshots and on-air interviews. More details on this exclusive play testing soon. Keep it tuned to Half-Life Radio.

There's such a thing as too much hype. I think I've gotten to the point that when it comes out, I probably won't notice. I'll just see it on store shelves some day and pick it up. But release dates for HL2 have become meaningless by now.

I often imagine myself walking around some game store fully stocked w/ half-life 2 and I'm not even remotely interested in buying it!  <_<

I have no beef with admiting that HL2 is a game I will be getting as soon as humanly possible...  I know there won't be any mods or anything right away, but meh, the game looks like it just ozses with funness for the whole family.  I can't wait to play more in depth with the pysics engine.

[edit]wow, that's a weird way to spell physics.  I'm gonna leave it in, just so you can see what I mean  :p

I  have to agree with some of you that said your anticipation has died down. I've waited this long, and it doesn't seem like that much of a deal to wait longer. Of course I'll probably buy it the first day it comes out. Then I'll probably get all excited. :p

I do get anxious when I see a game that looks interesting, but I don't spaz out and count down the days until release date. I've learned that games will be released eventually, and in the meantime there are loads of other games to play.

I wish I had that patience back in elementary school, when those prizes from cereal box tops took 4-6 WEEKS!!

I''m not in a bug hurry for it. My B-day is in August, and last August I told my wife that all I really wanted was HL2, and this year when she asked I said, "Same as last year"

We'll see if I'm still wanting next summer...
