Nasty business. I have a question to zee north americans about a rumour I heard:
You see, in Europe, we have this sound, healthy practice of "you lose, you cough up". That is, if I sue someone and lose, I pay the court fees. Someone told me that this ain't the case in the states. If that's true, I can see why people sue for reasons that seem completely insane to me over there: It's worth a shot.
"Dang, my husband died of cancer. I'll sue his cigarette brand: If I win I'm rich, if I lose nothing happens."
Is that it? Or am I the victim of a tall tale?
