Yeah, I've posted a thread in the I&S forums, and I would like some support on it, but only if you truly think the idea would be a usefull change. If you really like it, don't be annoying and spam it in red caps in your sig, but perhaps add a small link to it in your signature, or refer to it when a discussion relating to it comes up.

I'm pretty serious about trying to get this idea recognized and hopefully implemented, so please keep criticism constructive, and naturally post in that thread with your own thoughts on it. I've been getting alot of IRC PMs from people confused about what I want, so I'll try and clarify. I'm proposing that they move the viewpoint of the skulk from the stomach to the head. People see themselves as in the mouth due to the v_model, but in reality that isn't true. A good bit of you that you can't see is actually sticking out in front, and you are given the illusion of being at the front of the skulk. You're viewpoint is really from the middle. Ever tried hiding around a corner, only to see tracers hitting you in front of you? That's where your head/feet really are.

Yes. I asked Vinnie to go around a corner, then try and get as close to the edge of it while having it still look to him that he was completely hidden. When he was done, I noticed that his entire head and legs stuck out. And he thought himself totally hidden.

Meh, I've just gotten into the habit of controling my positioning with movement keys and mouse direction...  Just keep in mind, you need to give yourself a decent amount of room over the ledge due to prespective.  Always go for exessiveness when hiding, as you say, you can't really tell how hidden you really are...

The only thing I really worry about with the view point being moved up, is I don't see how it would work with the pivot point being the center of the skulk (which is REALLY useful for hiding)
