Can you brave the terrors of castle disconnection?  Can you face the terrible might of Noeayersee?  Have the dark forces of Gamesurge won?  Tackle the endless hoardes of servercan'tbefound and rescue Geminosity from the evil clutches of lunixless!!!

Okies... truth is I can't connect to gamesnet/gamesurge ^^;
I tried east.gamesnet.net, west.gamesnet.net, east.gamesurge.net and west.gamesurge.net to no avail @.@

Here is a collection of legal documents if you want to wade through them. Basically it sounds like some people on the board of directors of gamesnet decided to start using the gamesnet name for their own and found a tricky way to hijack it for themselves, resulting in much lawsuitage. I didn't read it close enough to give you an exact description though.

Nasty business. I have a question to zee north americans about a rumour I heard:

You see, in Europe, we have this sound, healthy practice of "you lose, you cough up". That is, if I sue someone and lose, I pay the court fees. Someone told me that this ain't the case in the states. If that's true, I can see why people sue for reasons that seem completely insane to me over there: It's worth a shot.
"Dang, my husband died of cancer. I'll sue his cigarette brand: If I win I'm rich, if I lose nothing happens."
Is that it? Or am I the victim of a tall tale?

Problem is our legal system is so full of loopholes that parasites- I mean lawyers have picked in it, I'm sure something like that existed at one time, but now it's barely recognizable...

So what you're saying that if I sue you right now for not answering my post coherently (or something equally ridiculous), I don't pay a dime if I lose? Assuming I were an american that is?

As I understand it (never having entered into a lawsuit with anyone, I'm no expert) you'll still have various lawyer's fees, at least, to pay. Except with certain lower class 'ambulance chaser' firms. They're the type that will find an accident victim fresh out of the hospital and promise them a big lawsuit and a big settlement and also promise no fees if they should lose the case. They say they 'only get paid if YOU get paid'. Classy!

That's part of what leads to our litigious American society.  :angry:

It also depends how frivolous the suit is, to some degree.  Personal injury cases aren't likely to have to pay the defendent's legal fees if they lose.  This is because personal injury cases are sometimes - a lot of the time, in fact - serious, and have massive legal precedent behind them.  However, trying to sue someone for an incoherent post on an internet forum is very likely to make a dent in one's wallet.

Is that anti-janitor sentiment I hear? You know we're on the verge of becoming a constitutionally recognized protected group. I'm saving this whole thread for my anti-hate crimes lawsuit, in which I will sue you for every penny you've ever seen in your life because of all the pain and suffering that you have caused me. And I just spilled my coffee on myself. And it was hot. And that was your fault too. Now I'm going to go hang myself out of grief, while being sure to survive so that I can sue the rope company BOTH for making a dangerous product, AND a shoddy product.

It all adds up to one thing. CASH!
