It was just  really pretty demo of basically having things maxed out in Source. At the beginning they had a lighting technique that faded in and out (the light was the sun) over the water. That was pretty short. Then you go into some type of temple with pillars that are shiny. It shows the world distorted looking through a type of glass. There are some headcrabs walking around. They have another light glow effect. It's basically using every effect Source has in one scene.
It's twice as clear as heaven and twice as loud as reason.

And the round pillars are shiney and all reflecting of light, plus they cast proper looking shadows!  I can't wait to walk around in there, even if my FPS dies to like 5.

Texture resolution for another. It probably would have taken them a few minutes to allow 24-bit textures with a reso of 512x512 instead of the current (8-bit textures at 240x240).

Heck, they added support for highres textures for the detaile textures. I was even able to use that to trick the game into displaying highres regular textures.
