I first tested it and it had too much vertical thrust, and the front end flew up. It tossed me out of the car, then the two-timing kill-mobile landed and smeared me. I BARELY managed that shot, it was flying so fast.

i was playing the new version of garrys mod with a friend tonight online.. it was awesome. we took the airboat, attached some jet tanks to it and made random ramps around the map, it rocked. one person gets into the airboat and the other turns on engines and helps control with the physgun

I have found the secret to flight: Stability in Rotation!

note how half the tanks are a different color (i used 3000 and 5000)

the total thrust is enough for it to lift off, and with one direction being stronger, we have rotation, and thus stability

it just flys up to the skybox, and twirls about without coming down. (unless it hits the wall)

newest version v5 owns. it has balloons! i tried to spawn the heaviest thing i could find which was some sort of cylindrical heater type deal and tried to make it float but game crashed cuz i prolly added too many balloons really fast

if you attach enough balloons to the airboat or buggy it floats up and if you get in you can drive around in the air. Pretty cool, now if you could only control your altitude you'd have a real airboat

If you attach 4 of the highest balloons (green) to each corner of the airboat, and you go off a ramp, you basically have an airplane that descends very slowly.

Fun thing to do.

Make a bunch of rockets (the Fatcan 9000) on the ground, then release them all, so they're untethered. Then, attach another rocket to their side, making a 'T' shape. Make sure they're all lying on their sides (not standing up). Turn on your rockets and play 'Dodge the spinning deathrockets'. If you have two people you can sling em at each other and try to kill each other.


For a bonus game, have everyone stand near them, then, while they're powered up, release them. Whoever ISN'T turned to paste wins.
