Ever since I upgraded to Win2kpro it seems every month or so when I log in I am told "Your password will expire in 14 days. Would you like to change it now?". Up untill now I've just put up with it and 'changed' it to my current password, but now I would like to know how to turn it off. I've tried digging around to find the setting to no avail. :help:

feh I know the answer to this one, but I'm not sure

at work we have XP and it's in rightclick on my computer, go to manage, and then users and then check the box that says password never expires.

if you still have trouble I will keep searching because I have the answer on the fricking tip of my head I just can't seem to grab it.

What'll happen if it expires? Will the computer self-destruct, or just whine every five minutes?

It forces you to change your password, but you can easily change it to what it currently is :)

unless the computer has "enforce strict password policies" enabled ... guess what? just like "do not use uber-weak encryption for my passwords" this variable (or set of variables) has been left OFF ... gee effing gee
