Oh but we do!

http://nes.greatstreamingvideo.com/

Some great stuff there. I'm talking klondike bar good.

Majoras Mask speed run! ONLY 38 HOURS LONG!

Don't get the Aria of Sorrow one either, he has hax and has all the awesome gear from the start.

Edit:

Oh and I've beat DKC in under the time of the vid posted there. Because all the enemies are on timers I think of it more as an intricate dance than a game.

I dunno? It doesn't for me. Try copying/pasting the url perhaps. Or possibly try this... You may be spyware infected.

Yes, apparently I still do... My sister clicks ONE wrong yes button and all hell breaks lose. I run AdAware and SpyBot in tandem, but it doesn't seem to get to the core of the problem. I throw out a load of registry keys and stuff every time I run them, but they just keep coming back.

the majora's mask one is probally the most impressive, seeing as how he beats the game, from recovering the ocerana, in one TERMINA day.  That means he never has to use the song of time, ever (except for the song of double time).  Quite impressive.

lf, try searching for hijackthis on download.com also. It scans for anything and everything that changes IE from the completely default settings. It requires a bit of knowledge to use, but just pay attention to what you're doing and you'll be fine. For example, it considers plugins for shockwave to be just as much a change to IE as some sort of spyware plugin. So just don't go through and delete everything, like one does with adaware, but delete everything that looks suspicious.

If you want to get really in depth, go to sysinternals.com and download the 'autoruns' and the 'process explorer' programs to see exactly what is REALLY running at startup, and what is REALLY running in the background. This is a lot more than you'll usually get with checking the normal places.

I'd say maybe 30-40% of our business at the computer store I work at comes from spyway, so I've got a lot of experience with it.

I totally forgot about the HL speedrun, gotta check that out on monday (56k right now).

LF:
Check "Add/Delete Programs", i don't know what it is in English but in Swedish it is "Ta Bort/ Lägg Till Program".

Once i got infected by the worst spyware ever, i tried AdAware Spybot and ran Housecall but it didn't have any effect. I got desperate and checked in "Add/Delete Programs" and there it was, had some kind of haxxy name so i recognized it right away.

Add/Delete programs was my first thought, but thanks. In summary, I found and fixed a fex suspicious-looking entries with hijackthis, but the problem persist: Almsot every time I make a scan, Spybot finds a "DSO Exploit" (Data Source Object) with five registry keys, while AdAware finds {I'll update this as soon as it finds something, which it sometimes doesn't. Stay tuned.}

Also, my homepage periodically gets changed to this: http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?p...ver=6.0&ar=home which immediately redirects me to http://www.msn.de/Default.asp?KC=true&Ath=f

Don't click those links unless you're confident in the safety of your system, I cannot guarantee that they're safe. I wouldn't bet lunch on it.

All most peculiar.

Update: RIGHT now, Spybot's watching features blocked the download of Mediaplex. Time to run a search on that...

Update2: Or maybe I'm going crazy. Or AdAware is. The "Possible Browser Hijack" that it finds turns out, upon closer inspection, to be the IE homepage settings. Which is set to about:blank
How can AdAware call a homepage of "about:blank" a hijack attempt? Retarded... Maybe everything's ok now. Except that the link above still redirects me to www.web1000.com

Update3: And something is still trying to download "Mediaplex", which Spybot blocks.

Well, like I mentioned, sometimes they'll see ANY change to your default browser behaviour as a hijack attempt. And the default IE homepage? DING DING DING That's right. MSN.com. Or, the german version in your case. So that's probably why you keep getting switched.

Have you considered stepping out of the darkness and accepting the great and powerful Mozilla as your personal lord and browser? Never have to worry about silly IE exploits ruining your browsing experience again.

Hmm, *looks up*

Bob and Lf...

GTFO!

Make another thread and stop hijacking this one! :p

lf: You're right, sorry. I'll just add my junk to your post and then call it quits. Yes, I've considered an alternate browser of sorts. I might even actually DO it. I don't need it myself (careful surfing behaviour has worked for ME so far), but apparently my family does. Le sigh. Everything seems to be working smoothly now, looks like I've finally got everything removed. And it only took four different applications...

Metroid Prime in 1:37:00 with 100% sounds pretty damn nice, too.
