Updates to Counter-Strike and the Half-Life 1: Engine have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

Half-Life 1: Engine

Servers will default to starting up using VAC2

Added "sv_uploadmax" cvar to limit the max size (in MB) a client can use for a custom resource (i.e spray decals)

Added "-sport" command line option to allow you to specify the VAC2 port the server should use

Don't allow servers to execute "alias" commands on clients (prevents an infinite loop exploit using alias commands from servers)

Fixed S2C_CONNREJECT packet exploit causing the game to quit from any currently connected game server (found by Gavin Cotter)

Fixed crash exploit caused by specially crafted packet triggering a crash in the resource upload code (found by Gavin Cotter)

Fixed infinite loop in richtext/textentry control caused by large sets of spaces between words wrapping around line ends (found by Kristian Hermansen)

Fixed possible lockup when refreshing a login ticket

Disabled old style server queries by default.

Already see one secured server in the list :D.  Will lunixmonster be enabling it or is it to much overhead?

now i just want to play it on lunixmonster since its a lot more fun :D.

It's funny watching 3-4 rines coming through the PG with nades to kill the skulks munching on it :D.

The skulk "walking" stickness to the ceiling\walls really isn't that helpful and i thought they would be able to have a toggle or do that all the time no matter what speed.

Any others of you played it?

yes, its reg night.  Also a admin usually posts the PW in the lm server ideas forum in the reg night thread.  They probably just forgot tonight.

You couldn't even use the java IRC?

don't change voice quality 4 :(

One thing i like about LM is its good voice clarity and is a lot nicer than most other servers...

generally i'd imagine you probably still do that just to avoid getting killed in the line of fire... you just might get welded quicker without having to say it over voice comm\ jumping up and down with welder

So the aliens have a follow me comm now too?  So this new "orders" system for marines where they point at another marine and hit "cover me... etc" will work the same for aliens as well?

I like the idea of seeing the health of all marines\structures as commander with a transparent health.  That'll speed up my commanding a little :D

I wonder what they mean by "waypoint will show in players hud" ... doesn't it already do that?

Skulk movement sounds awesome, i never understand i always thought that skulks would spend the majority of their time on walls\ceilings anyways...

oh man i get those at home CONSTANTLY.  I have 10 messages a day from those sorts of telemarketers, i'm up to 40 on the answering machine just from unanswered calls mostly from marketers.  Gonna see how many my machine can hold.
