General / Need comming tips

Hey i've been learning to comm for a while now and i'm trying to get better but the area of the game i'm having trouble with is the mid game.

This seems to happen after we lock down one hive (with elec RT and PG) and have a good res flow but the fades start to appear i can't seem to coordinate anything.  I know that to win as marines you have to be very agressive taking down hives and hitting their RTs along the way to keep ahead.

I dunno, i get a1 almost right off the bat and get weapons upgrades as quick as a i can but once there is one or two fades i can't seem to do much at all except for a desperate hive rush, as a onos or fades comes and kills the rest of the base.
 
Any of you that have seen me comm can you give me any tips on what was effective\ineffective?  :help:

Honestly i think after 4-5 minutes you better have a PG up at that one hive lockdown because the fade will start to take it down but its good for keeping skulks\lerks away for the first few minutes of the game.

Also the electric TF in base idea works good but what i have done its place a big cluster of buildings near a corner with a electrified TF somewhere where it can reach no matter where they attack the buildings.  And make the buildings futher away from your comm chair so you can get out and shoot them without them already being on top of you.

Don't they check the transfusions for these things beforehand?  I'm not really sure how hepatitis works other than how its transmitted.

Well, at least you only have 6 months left that's not to bad.

I honestly don't know... but i've played this game more than another other game i've ever bought (and that's about 100+ games) and its free!  (I even donated $20 to them because i figure i've gotten so much time out of it $20 is nothing)

That and i like playing on linuxmonster NS because most people use teamwork and its fairly fun.

Even newer games like hl2dm i can't play for very long because its just "Deathmatch"... i am so tired of deathmatch.  So very tired  :help:

My g/f even plays this game once and a while and she loves it even though she doesn't play a ton of computer games.

That and its kind of funny sometimes when the marines are doomed so the comm starts handing out mines and cigarettes

I bet the community would explode since it'd be the first "big" mod to be on the half-life 2 engine.  I image there's a whole slew of people just waiting for hl2 mods that have never played half-life or its mods.

I don't think there's anything wrong with occasional swearing due to frustration (we are all adults after all, and even the IRC channel is PG-13)

And as long as the admins arn't going on a power trip and kicking\banning people without a warning i think the server is fine.  

As for the whole "armory" spawning when their finishing off the CC just for fun i don't really see as a problem i think its actually kind of funny to watch the pathetic last attempt :-P.  

I've gotten to know a lot of the regulars that play in the past 1-2 months i've played on this server and its a LOT funner than normal ns servers just because everybody knows eachother, knows the game, and is relatively willing to work together.

Can't think of anything more...bye

then aliens could jack the buggies but cant really drive them to well due to the lack of an opposable thumb so they just kinda crash back and forth into things till

lol *imagines gorge trying to use steering wheel with his little paws and picking up all his comrades that have to get out of the battle area and heal.

But recently i thought that just having new "proper" hitboxes would be awesome... although it sounds like hl2 has the same problems that hl1 hitboxes do :(

I think the best "epic" games is where its really back and forth between aliens and marines.  I was playing a game on LM once like that where aliens went between 1-2 hives (then shottie rushing 2nd hive but they kept fighting us back and managed to get a 2nd have back up again and again)

They finally one because newborn got tired and stopped trying :-P
