I was playing a game tonight and realized that comms need help front their marines as well.  There was a few games today where i feel like you have to babysit your whole team and all they do is shoot and you have to run everything.  It makes it so much easier if you can have competant marines to know what the comm needs (or for them to be experienced comms as well).  

Maybe its just my comming because i forget things so it helps to have marines that can keep track of the game as well.  I keep track of upgrading\overall strategy\checking hives\ thinking of how and when to take down 2nd hive etc... if marines can see when we're down to low RTs they will go wait and cap some.  Also able to keep eachother welded without prompting.  It just makes the comms job a lot simpler and streamlined and you can concentrate on the bigger picture a helluva lot easier.

Maybe that's why a lot of comms lose a lot is because their team doesn't work\share relevant information together?

Anyways here's a demo of the game we had tonight that i thought had good teamwork, but we also had good players so that always helps.  And thank nooblet for being a field comm because its very helpful when people are.

FRAPS wouldn't work because i'm trying to record the ground soldiers view of stuff when i'm comming...  One of the playtesters on ns.org said it wasn't possible

lol i think its funny when the game is over for marines and they put like 5 phase gates in their base and all the marines try to phase away from the aliens...

If the phase didn't have a delay you could probably evade them for a while until they got smart and waiting for you at the next one.

Basically what i was wondering it its possible to record a demo of other players on the field when i'm comming.  I just kind of want to see what it looks like on the ground level :-P.

Somebody on the NS forums said its not possible with normal demos but somebody said record with HLTV.  How would i go about doing this?

I strongly agree with this.  I was thinking about different ways to counter a MC rush when your trying to shoot down a hive and all i could think of was mines.  Outside of sieging but its damn near impossible to hold sieges and men when everybody on the alien team is in that (building) hive in a few seconds.  If we could place mines at least it would probably kill the upgraded skulks which IMO are the biggest problem in MC rushes.

Although i do see the reason in active hives because its sorta like spawn camping i guess.

Hive warping is countered by competance and forsight. You know that when the hive is attacked aliens WILL mc in. So you move into the hive, you secure it, if theres an alien on top its a bit more problematic but still not a big issue. If there's no alien in the hive you put a PG up in the hive, if there is just use one that is further back. Place mines, 2 or 3 packs on the floor, best used by people who have an idea of where the spawn spots are. You attack the hive with ONE bullet, aliens MC in, you kill the aliens, once their spawn queue is clogged up you kill the hive.

Can't place mines in building\active hive in LM unfortunately.

I think a very big part of holding your phase gates is just passing out about 2 packs of mines when you set one down, this will go a long way to keeping them alive.

Also getting a couple packs of mines around the arms lab\obs\ ips is really handy and discourages the aliens from attacking base.

IMO i think getting a1, w1-3 as quick as possible is really important along with holding res
