...Dystopia....maybe when they finally release a full version (or rather, 'more' full) LM could migrate there? Who the hell knows?

A good possibility, many people enjoyed Dystopia but got sick of it for one reason or another(unfinished, not enough maps, HL2 netcode, etc).

Sniper rifles.

I'm guessing you played a medium?

Every class has one, the light's is proably the worse though.  2 fully charged shots can drop a heavy, and the ****ing things can just cloak around all over the place and beat you to every possible hidden alcove.  It's really annoying.

Naw, but there was crazy auto-aiming.  And in the case that they keep the game the way it is, aiming-wise, they should at least have the decency to make headshots etc. etc. count for something.

Mmm, that's right...  I guess true blue console to PC just isn't the most elegant solution in goldeneye's case.  Mouse and keyboard easily replaces the need for an autoaim, and why bother having a no crosshair mode at all if there is no gameplay difference.  Ironically Goldeneye64 probably was more realisitic compared to real weaponary to that effect.  Spray in pray in someone's general direction is fairly easy with a gun, but good shots take time to line up.

wasn't there a little crosshair in non aimmode?  I know there was no crossy for the throwing knifes unless you were aiming, but I could have sworn that the soviet used one...

I'm still around.  Still play more NS then is probably healthy, and still love the game to death.  Being in the best clan ever helps that though...

Shape of the card, have you checked that? I have a deck of cards designed for tricks, and one edge is ever so slightly tapered.

Haha, you could cheat so easy with a svengali deck.  does he feel the cards?  Is it possible that one side is warmer then the other?  If a 360 turn messes him up then there has to be some sensory flag he's looking for.  I could only guess at what it is, maby he's looking for fingerprints.

I agree with you fewl, but lost and nothing still aren't server emptiers for some reason, dispite the fact that you would have to be dumb to admit they aren't some of NS's better maps.

Like I said before, new eon isn't that bad, played a few matches and scrims on it and once you learn the map it isn't that large and it's acctually quite balanced.  Eon used to be crappy map, but I've had alot of fun there the last couple times I've played it anyways.

Well, from your story it's not quite clear how many people you were, but if you're several people, there's always the possibility of him having an accomplice giving him signs.

I've used slight bends in cards in locating a certain card out of a group before... is it possible the cards are kinked or bent slightly?  Hell, maby he's laying hairs on them or something so he can just tell which card has been tampered with.

[edit] It's hard to tell you how a certain trick is done.  Even if you know slight of hand yourself alot of times you can guess 10 or more times the method a certain trick is done before you get the right one.  There's usually many many more then 1 way to do any given trick.

ns_metal
ns_caged
ns_lost
ns_nothing
ns_tanith
ns_veil
ns_eclipse
ns_origin

I used 2_of_8's list, but then I realized he included metal in it and was shamed.  So that's 7 maps.  Seriously, all those might not be eclipse ir tanith but they aren't server killers and are all definitely playable (except metal).

the lack of maps is already a given even with a full rotation, because there aren't that many maps to begin with (i mean, look at UT, it's just fragging over and over but they have dozens and dozens of maps, whereas NS ships with a stock of maybe a dozen, and only about half of them play well)
point is, there are some that are so bad people blatantly hate them so those would be candidates to be removed (like altair?) the others can be removed on the cycle but i dont think that prevents people from voting for them does it? true there will only be a list of 4-6 maps if we did some strict removal, but if you left them on, it would basically be the same 4-6 maps ppl ask u to change it to anyway
and yeah, it does get boring after a while of playing the same maps over and over, but we've had basically the same amount of maps since 1.03 (cant say for previous versions, i came in 1.03) and it's managed to survive somewhat. but i don't think we expect people to play for 4 hours straight either.. either way, the voting system will take care of nearly all map-related problems cuz it responds to exactly what the people want, not by percentages, but by numerical values, where highest voted wins.

You get at least 8 maps... 9 if you keep shiva, although it's looking like a server emptier on other servers...  I personally think new eon is keepable if it's kept to the back of the rotation as well, but most people don't like it.

I never leave it on if I'm not using it... and should I not leave the case open at all? I don't have any case fans (power supply sucks), so I cool it with a fan from the outside.

In my experiance leaving the case open isn't so bad if you keep dust out as much as possible and don't have any small, potentailly wire chewing, rodents around.
