Do you remember at the end of HL when the G-man is touring around Xen with you explaining (cryptically) what you've just accomplished, and there's the one scene with the dead soldiers and destroyed tanks?

I always assumed that this had meant that the army (whether under orders from G-man or whoever) had attempted to invade Xen but was failing.  So it looked to me as though it were suggesting that although the game would make you think that the Xen aliens were invading our universe, in fact we had invaded theirs first and they were simply retaliating.

Now I've also given thought, since according to the new theories it seems Earth and Xen weren't really at war (hasty generalization, I know), that maybe those destroyed Earth forces were really just the G-man's earlier brute force attempt to kill the Nihilanth that failed, before he decided that a single man could get in where an army had failed.

Either way, that scene has always left me wondering, particularly with these new theories that are arising.  What do you guys think?

Based on aesthetics, I never really hated ns_altair all that much, and didn't mind the new bast (although it is worse than its predecessors).  I hate them now because of their tendency to empty out the server.  Not fun.

What an amazing undertaking Arch.  It really opened my eyes to a lot of things that are going on, of which I was only familiar with a few.  I've always felt that it was a privilege to be a part of this community, so I didn't pay a lot of attention to the little things.

What I gathered from reading that fat file was that if we could all take things just a little less seriously, especially those in power, then maybe things would be better.  Of course, that's much harder than it sounds, and not easy to guage either.

Just when we thought the small game was finished, Newborn as comm (with a little help from scooter) proved that if you can't beat 'em, you join 'em.

In all fairness, it proved a great onos blocker.  Thanks scoots!

EDIT:  Forgot to mention, it was a real standoff (3vs3) until scooter as gorge took out the obs with bile bomb.

I'm in the same boat as Malevolent.  Besides the docks just before Black Mesa East, I really don't remember seeing him.  Pictures please!

I will agree that the ending is a deep-down-dirty cliffhanger that was just so darned anti-climactic.  HL was a little unsatisfying in that, though you did a good thing, you still got stuck in limbo on a stupid train car.

HL2, you don't even get to figure out exactly what it was you did.  No word on the fate of the citadel, or Alyx, or City 17, or anything!  I mean, when you killed the Nihilanth you knew you had done good.  I don't know what the hell I did when I blew up the portal!

The Matrix comparisons are unnervingly accurate in some points.  If HL3 ends up anything like Revolutions, I may just have to kill myself.

I'm pretty sure those two bunny rabbits (and I say bunny rabbits to make them sound as harmless as possible) are sizing that turkey up.

One of the most enjoyable things to do as a gorge.  Reminds me of that spot above double on ns_hera (one build previous) that a skulk could go gorge in and lame up really nicely.  Course the problem was if you ever fell off or accidentally used an MC, it was a real pain to get back up.  Yours seems a little easier to get into, not to mention more stylish.

Man, obviously I'm way behind on my French-Canadian slang.  I didn't recognize a single thing on here!

Except for rododos.  Oh, those fine fine rododos.

Peace out Jocelyne, you and your fine rododos.

I think movements have been made to try and reduce skill stacking, I don't see it happen as much as it used too (though I wouldn't say it's gone).  Sometimes it's hard to avoid a stax when you get noobs that rush Marines.  I think this has increased, because now we're seeing some Alien stacks instead of just Marine ones like we used to.  I guess any change is good change  :p

I would encourage you to check the teams before rushing random though.  While Random is great when lots of regs and resslotters are on, but when most of the players are new you may well get random-stacked.  I never thought it would happen but I keep seeing it.  Stupid marine rush.

At any rate, if we can count on anyone to keep the games fair, we can count on the LM regs.  I mean, I try my best, but when you're an exceedingly average player like me you really can't claim to be affecting the balance all that much.

Gotta hand it to Blizzard, their videos are always amazing.  <3  Absolutely top class.  My favourite part of WC3, actually.  This one looks even better!
