Aha, imagine having been gone a week and getting to read all this at once! I started with the thread in the RS forum, and went from "WTH DID I MISS?" to "Wait a minute..." to "Oh so April Fools."

The Midwest states wouldn't be too bad of a drive for me, but if we do end up going East Coast I most certainly will be hopping a plane. Of course the costlier the trip gets, the harder it is to go. I'd still give it a shot, it'd be great to meet my fellow LMers in the flesh.

I remember as I jumped up into the vent above ABS's spot in nancy thinking "Man, booj is screwed. They will find him right away." How wrong was I, apparently hiding in plain sight works wonders.
I screwed up my own best spot on top of The Pit, in that dark alcove with the one big crate. A lerk landed on top of the box and looked down. Thinking I was dead, I jumped up and started knifing. Turns out he hadn't seen me. Oops.

General / Aiming and shooting

LMG/HMG - Point at target, fire until dead. I still have the bad habit of not moving while firing sometimes. Trying to axe that.
Pistol - I actually fire mine kinda slow if I'm dealing with skulks. I want to make every shot count, because I'm likely down to my knife if I don't kill the skulk in 10. Against anything larger or faster, I shoot like hell of course.
Shotgun - Even with the new reticles I still always try to put the target in the top right. Old habits die hard, I guess.
GL - As long as I can bounce my shot off something, I'm happy.
Welder - Why oh why won't it kill anymore?

I can definitely say that the level of play on LM, while it has changed, keeps me hooked. I haven't bothered with any other server since I first stumbled on LM back in May. Not once, even during the constant slotkicks, did I play anywhere else. The sense of community and the quality of play I saw in the regs was perfect for me.
I'd like to think I've grown as a player since I came here. Every now and then I wonder how I'd do on some other server, but I'd rather stay here and get owned by HD/ebnar/etc. It's just worth it.

I always liked Joy Electric, though I haven't played my stuff in a while. I heard Unelectric was actually a great album Rad?
Oh, and thanks for beating me to the punch with Apocalyptica, Anarki. Reflections and Cult are both fantastic albums. Many of you will probably find their Metallica covers more enjoyable than the original. Unforgiven, for example, is really good.

I found it rather spontaneously too, although a little earlier than you. It came in handy destroying those pop-up turrets, and also throwing nades around corners, because the thing always seemed to roll to the left.

My only problem is vocabulary, where phrases like "cornmando" and "oh noes" are seriously threatening the proper words. In fact, I fear that "zOMG" may be next. Pronounced "zoh my god", this would be the most terrible thing to happen to me. Ever.

And, I recall one game where multiple PGs in MS kept the marines alive for a long time. Just kept phasing out of reach. I think Owl was the comm, but I really don't remember.
