sorry to report, but the autosorter thingy is broken =x

well, not utterly broken, just buggy... like, it has a 'feature' to autosort every time you pick something up, but of course sorting means it goes through your entire inventory, moving everything, monopolizing your cursor for a few seconds, etc... which really sucks if you just got 1 piece of junk from a corpse while you're in combat...

and the ability to turn off the auto-sort (so that it only sorts on command) seems to not be working atm

but I swear the other features rawk you =P lemme take a quick SS of my interface...

things worth noting: 2 sidebars, quest monitor, DPS monitor, clock, xp monitor/other stats, buff info/timeleft, soulshard monitor (for warlocks), clunky xp bar moved to portrait, macros to attack + send pet to attack w/ 1 button and to use a healthstone w/o dragging it to my toolbar every time I use one...

edit: of course those huge windows aren't always there - everything is fully smart and configurable and the detail windows only come up when you hover over their tiny counterparts.

I assume you tried terminating the process(es)?  do they just start back up?  did you tell spybot to run on system start?  that could help...

perhaps search for the offending processes in your registry and delete any references to them?

well it'd be decidedly stupid to make a guild NS themed if there were more than just NS people in it... that said, if we DID happen to all be on one server, which we're not, I think it'd be amusing to be in a clan with ranks called Cormandor, Onos, Lork, etc, with a TSA-green tabard...

btw anyone else use Cosmos UI tweak?  highly recommended :> coolest features are a quest tracker that displays active quest objectives, additional toolbars, a DPS tracker (including DPS for each of your spells, pet, etc), auto-tell group when you need healing, etc etc etc.  

it's also very modular, and I plan on adding a couple features tonight - such as a bag autosort mechanism, and a macro to use my warlock's healthstones without having to re-drag it to the toolbar every time I use one...

plugging aside, my warlock just started her own guild on Gorefiend, "The Lost Cause"... it's not a NS/LM guild, but at least it's a guild. :>

no LM server yet right?  lunixmonster.org:27020 ain't connectin'... I played for like a half hour though, twas fun, had 40 kills 30 deaths when I left.  gravity + lag = things moving sadly unnaturally hope it doesn't translate so poorly to mods...

yeah, I considered a shaman, I know their reputation for being kinda uber, but I tried it til about lvl 10 and it just wasn't clicking with me.  maybe I shouldn't be so hasty...

but I played a warlock to 19 and it was still appealing to me... yeah, the eventually get mainly upgrades, but I still had the summons to look forward to, a few fire spells, creating a few more stones, etc... and I just found it the most fun so far...

one thing that saddened me about LM is how I never got a res slot.  taboo subject, etc, but back in I think march through like may, I played 2 to 4 hours every day, hung out in IRC whenever I was home and not in NS, posted here occasionally, and was basically ignored... I remember Lito telling me he was petitioning to get me a res slot, nothing came of that (I appreciate the thought, man)...

I still wonder if I'm on someone's **** list.  This is still the only *anything* in any gaming community I was ever banned from - even if it was only for a few hours in the forums.  That was for posting a response in a thread about why people get so PO'd at getting FF parasited.  I agreed that it was a stupid thing to do and against the rules, but could not for the life of me see why it was worth getting bent out of shape over unless a certain person or set of people are doing it chronically.  I essentially said someone or another was being antisocial for raving militantly against it.  I felt it was exceedingly ironic that I was banned for this.  Getting flaming mad over people who do something childish but essentially harmless?  OK.  saying it's an overreaction?  bant.  

definitely made me feel even more alienated and put the last nail in the coffin, so I stopped playing NS for several moons.  now I pick it up once in a while, always on LM, because I still like the atmosphere - I always know what to expect, I know the people, I know who's good at what, etc... but I still feel like I'm playing under some kind of iron curtain when I *am* around... have to watch what I say, etc...

and by 'watch what I say' I don't mean 'restrain myself from flaming' because I'm not the type who would ever even be tempted to do that.  I'm an extremely casual NS player.  if someone's being an idiot on purpose and won't stop, I'll report them, because I respect the rules, and think they make the game more fun.  I just think there's a definite vibe about who can get away with saying what and who can't in this community.  

I respect the ban list with regards to gameplay infractions.  if it wasn't for enforcement of gameplay rules, LM would be just another server and none of us would love it.  it's the alienation of seeing some people get away with things other people can't that really sticks in my craw.  not to make it sound too much like a relationship, but I bet a lot of us non-res slotters would feel a good degree of closure if the server just went private for admins and RS ppl, and the rest of us shlub regulars could see in broad daylight that we really weren't wanted.

I think I'm going to give up my hunter.  I love the concept of having pets and all that, but at lvl 23, I went forward and looked at what spells/skills I have to look forward to... and from 23-60, there's pretty much NO new interesting skills for hunter... and I couldn't bear to think of playing the rest of the game with the same exact fighting pattern as lvl 23 =/

I'm gonna go back to my original plan of warlock...

k I'm used to bothering NS.org off-topic with my tech support questions, but being that they're down, I'm turning here =D you guys prolly have more tech know-how anyway.  

just connected a 2nd monitor to my vid card, and I wanna know exactly what I can do with it... it's a radeon 9600 pro all-in-wonder fyi.

the biggest thing I want to do is be able to, like, browse the internet in monitor 2 while I play a game in monitor 1... get IMs in 2nd monitor, etc, without interrupting a full screen game... I guess this would either involve a 2nd keyboard or a way to switch which screen I want to type on...

anyway, c'est possible?  or is the most I can do have a bigger desktop? :*(

the company is trying to say it's 'historical' and a 'docu-game'.  of course people are pissed, esp. the Kennedys.  

I haven't played the game so I don't know how tasteless it is.  regardless, tasteless movies, articles, radio broadcasts, and stuff don't get nearly as much exposure.  everyone is DYING for more excuses to think video games are bad.  I'm sure it's just one of those $10 bargain bin games that expects to sell on the shock value alone.  like 30 such B-movies come out every year... Howard Stern's made a living out of saying tasteless things for what must be decades now (though he does get negative press too)...

just something to think about.
